The most common problem is the stop light switch on the brake pedal if you're referring to the rear brake lights. Then again, there's a switch on the parking brake that comes on when engaged that shows up on the dash to let you know that it's on. It could be that switch. If thaat's what you're referring to. My 2008 Jeep Wrangler x 'S abs light stay on what is causing this what do I need to change on it??

When the ABS light stays on it means the control module has detected a fault in the ABS system, the light is turned on to alert you and the ABS system is turned off, so right now you have plain old brakes, no ABS. You must have the ABS code read and then diagnosed for the defective part that is causing this light.

I have a 2003 Jeep wrangler. All three brake lights don't work. The lights are fine because the tail lights work. I've replaced the pressure switch at the pedal with no results. Dan.

just because the tail lights work doesn't necessarily mean the bulbs are good, many brake/tail lights have multiple filaments in them, you can usually remove a bulb and tell with your naked eye if a filament has failed. Another possibility is a fuse. Are you getting power in and out of that brake light switch?

My jeep wrangler 1994 manual brake light stays on after a release the handle.

That light usually has two functions: (1) Parking brake is set and (2) hydraulic brakes system failure. I would assume that you have had a failure in the regular brake system, and trouble shoot that. Check fluid level, then make sure all 4 wheels are applying the brakes. Most systems have a split, so you could get a failure of say the front brakes and still have rear, or vice versa, so you might not realize at first that you have a failure, just a longer stopping distance.

Other option is a failure (short) of the switch or wiring harness that is activated by the setting of the parking brake.
