Question about 1989 Toyota Pickup SR5

Open Question

I have a 1989 fuel injected Toyota pickup and just had the fuel filter and fuel pump replaced about 6 months ago after being stored for about 4 years. The truck just quit today while driving more than 2000 miles after the above mechanic work. I checked and I have spark to the plugs so I am assuming it is not getting fuel. Do you think this is the fuel pump or filter again? I don't have a manual.... can you tell me where the fuel pump & filter are located? Thanks.... Tom G

If I were you, I would rather go in for a diagnosis (scan) if my car is OBD I compliant.

But you could take a look at the fuel pump or see that the fuel system generally is okay.

Good luck.

22re ruff idle and die

It sounds like you have already spent more money than it would cost to have the problem properly diagnosed.

It sounds like you are describing the symptoms of a faulty airflow meter.

However, 1989 Toyota Pickup used both carbureted and fuel injected engines. Both engines were used with regular automatic transmission, electronic automatic transmission and manual transmission. The engine control diagrams are different for each of these possible configurations.
The place I would start would be to gather any computer fault codes FIRST before wasting any more money randomly replacing parts.

My 1989 toyota Pickup feels like it stutters from speeds 45-65 randomly... Check engine light pops on for a second then turns off. It has a 22RE engine in it and is fuel injected.

Fuel pump is a possible cause but I would check the ignition timing first.

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

Loss of power

Do you know how check if every cilinder is working? with the engine in idle, go to the distribuitor cap and carefully unplug one at the time, every cilinder spark plug wire,in the cilinder you dont see a diference in rpm variation, that cilinder is not working, replace spark plug, if you see spark jumping fron the distribuitor cap torch the spark plug wire, another cause to a cilinder fail could be a loss of compression in one or more cilinder
