Question about 1990 Ford F150

Have you replaced the fuel filter? It can also be a weak fuel pump. A fuel pressure test will verify this.

99 bravado stalls after it gets warm . Drive about 20 miles and dies. Starts again when cools down.

What's missing after it stalls ? Spark , fuel pressure etc.... Find the system with the problem an diagnose from there ! An ignition control module , engine sensor ,engine computer . Replaced 1.8 liter engine in a 2006 Civic after it overheated bad. Had to replace two ignition coils and it will idle smooth until it gets warm then starts missing.Loses power and check engine light starts...

misfires are from coils , plugs , HT leads , and injectors and fuel pressure . If the head got that hot then it is possible that the injectors have an internal problem that shows when they get hot and the electronics breaks down.

Do a cylinder leak down test,for bad valves on #3
or head gasket,misfires for a reason

(Cam Worn ?)

Have to get rid of any misfires

If your taking out 20% your correcting for a rich condition,maybe

Some injector issues,old,need to be sent away for cleaning & flow
testing or replaced?

Drive it for 30 miles & add short & long term & see what you get

Exhaust Converter any good ?

Truck ignition problems

you will need to access the steering column to gain access to the electrical part of the ignition. remove it from the column. take a screw driver and move it until the truck starts. if it stays running replace the key lock cylinder. if not replace the electrical switch

I have a 1997 Dodge Intrepid the motor is a 3.5 liter with approximatively 270.000km the car ran beautifully until i went to put gas into it and 20 minutes later the car just died. I went to turn it...

The only way anyone is going to be able to help you is if you can tell them what is missing...
Your engine requires Fuel, Ignition, Compression, and Timing to run. One or more of these is missing. Since your vehicle is an OBD II compatible vehicle, the logical starting point would be to scan your engine computer and see if there are any fault codes stored. If there are, then you must diagnose the fault codes first. If there are no fault codes, then you must do manual testing of your fuel system, ignition system, and to check compression and timing.
As you now know, having wasted time and money on a computer, it does absolutely no good to start replacing parts until proper diagnosis has PROVEN the parts to be defective.

It starts fine, runs good until the engine heats u...

Check to see if the radiator fan is coming on when the van gets hot.If it does not then on a 2.6 liter engine.look on the bottom part of the radiator on drivers side for a fan switch that could be bad and not letting the radiator fan to come on. On a 3.0 liter engine the coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the thermostat housing. And on a 3.3 liter and on a 3.8 liter engine the coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the front cylinder head. Anyone of these can cause the van to run hot and eventually die with no restart until the temperature has cooled down. Check the fan first with two jumper wires from the positive/negative post to the fan connector on a 2.6 liter engine (positive wire to open pin on plug,negative wire to insulated plug side. On all v6 engines hook jumper wires to motor. To the left side will be positive and negative to the right. Do not let both wires touch together while testing. If motor does not respond to direct wiring then replace it. Another thing to look at is the catalytic converter on van. Check the exhaust flow when the van is running cold and again when it gets hot. If the flow starts to slow down when the van gets hot then remove the converter(plugging up). After doing that run the van again to see if the van runs ok. Hope this will help you.

My car will start and run fine for about 20 mins. after that it starts to miss bogg down and now its killing. also after it runs for a few mins it won't start back up right away unless i spray a little...

So many things.. I would first start with the fuel filter. Check to see if there is a good ignition spark at the plugs once it dies. If not replace the power transister next to the distributor. It also could be in the distributor itself. If the spark is good check the fuel pressure. If no good, you need to replace the pump. After that you probably need to do or have diagnostics run and see what that shows. You could spend a lot of money swapping parts.

Tere may be no solution to this problem because the car has 200,000 miles on it however I can explain somewhat, when engines heat up occasionally we find break downs in efficiencies regarding to moving parts, (loosening up then binding ) this may however not be the problem it may be as simple as fuel pump fatigue after running a while and it can't deliver the appropriate fuel pressure. I would say perform commpression test to assess engine efficiency then evaluate ignition ensuring bright blue or purple spark coming from exposed sparkplug then ensure proper fuel pressure/delivery and check vaccuum pressure to ensure a steady reading of 18-20 pounds of vacuum ... got it if low vacuum replace all vacuum hose to eliminate porous condition of hose therbye leaking small amounts adding up to a larger total accumulative sum. causing poor performance. good luck

Try replacing the ignition module on driver side on top of the tire well this attached to the distributor, before you replace the distributor.
