Water with green coolant dripping from rear of 89 Prelude motor, what to look for, welsh plugs or heater. Had pressure tested via radiator pump but would not leak. Usually leaks after longer trip. What should I be looking for. Just clocked over 300000klms and still like new. Thanks Neil

Re: Water leaking from rear of engine
Look under the intake there are small hoses that go from the intake to the block they get hard and brittal over the years just wiggle the hoses while it is running that way the coolant will be flow through them should find the leak

Could be welsh plugs on side of engine are corroded.
Could be a smaller pipe like a heater hose pipe or an auxilary cooling pipe .Had one of these little extra pipes on a mitsubishi sigma under the inlet manifold that was leaking.
Did you use a coolant in the engine as water can corrode welsh plugs in engines as I found out on my car !.
will assume V6 motor what color is the water clear ...is air condioning outlet green ...coolant welsh plug ! any heater hoses or coolant bypass hoses in that area any corrosion inlet manifold or head gasket exterior leak
Have a coolant pressure test done to see if the leak is external--radiator-- welsh plugs --hoses water pump--- heater . Have compression test done to determine if there is a head gasket or cracked head problem. Check the colour of the engine oil and if it is grey or milky there may be a leak behind the water pump impellor allowing water into the sump
Could be a freeze plug on the engine block. If you have a block heater installed in one of the freeze plug holes, check it for getting too loose and leaking. Pretty common problem with a block heater that's been in there a long time.
Your problem is something like either a hose clip loose /biting into a hose and split it/a metal hose rusted and has a pin hole or a welsh plug (core plug) leaking. or a water plate gasket IE W/Pump/Manifold etc
Because it drips of the centre of engine dosenot mean it coming from the bottom of engine...
