Depends on where it is leaking from. If it is leaking at the water pump weep hole then the water pump needs replacing. If it is leaking at a hose, then tighten the clamp or look for a crack. If it is leaking at the radiator then it has a pin hole in it. It may also be leaking at the cap or the resivoir. If you see no leak but are loosing coolant then suspect a blown head gasket especially if you see white smoke from the exhaust. Stop driving it if the latter is true or you will ruin this engine.

If you dont have a hole in your radiator hose then you have a bad water pump. when they go bad fluid leaks out the front of your motor. best of luck to you.

Why would my oil get milky in my 2006 chevy malibu

Sounds like you are developing a coolant leak into your oil. Some of these engines have been known to blow an intake manifold gasket and leak anti-freeze into the crankcase. Most times, it is a head gasket that is blown out. Good luck.

I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu and the symbol that I'm

this is your radiator signal that the radiator is low on antifreeze probably due to a slow leak or just possible evaporation over long periods of time w/o checking the anti freeze reserve tank and or radiator

1999 chevy malibu ran hot and would not crank. changed egr valve and not cranks but runs very rough and not sure oil is getting to head.

you overheated it and then it would not turn over?i would check for anti freeze mixing with the oil and then do a compression test on all of the cylinders in case you blew a head gasket

Can I replace my dex coolant with regular antifreeze? in my 1997 chevy malibu and how

they say you cant mix different coolants but you can go to auto-zone etc, and buy a cheaper anti-freeze for general motors products. its a 50/50 mix for all gm cars and trucks.you can add this coolant to any brand of anti-freeze. its called universal type anti-freeze. to run a differant anti-freeze in it, you have to flush out complete engine and radiator because the dex-cool and the green stuff do not mix well and cause engine corrosion etc. dex-cool is reccomended for all chevy engines. good-day !

1999 Chevy Malibu is leaking power steering fluid why

Hello, this can caused by several thing, the power steering pump may be leaking, the stering gear leaking, or one of the power steering hoses. you will need to make a visual inpection of these parts and see if you see fluid leaking out. the teo most common areas are, the power steering pressure hose and the steering gear mounted under the vehicle on the frame

Steam from antifreeze coming from right side of engin

I would check the hoses in that area. It maybe the the water pump bearing shaft seal. There is usually a small drain hole towards the bottom of the pump, that will leak anti-freeze when the seal goes bad. With an inspection mirror, you may be able to see if anti-freeze is leaking from the pump.
