Question about 2005 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra SLE ext cab. Blower problems. First the four lower speeds stopped working but the fifth one continued to work. Now five months later the fifth one stopped. I changed the fuse and when I turn on the blower switch I hear a click from the blower motor below the glovebox. I need to take it in, so what should I expect? Should I give the mechanic any direction on this?

2005 envoy heater blower will not work on speeds one to four but five works fine

You likely have a defective blower motor resistor pack and/or a damaged connector attached to the pack. These parts are located near the blower motor behind and below the glovebox.

2005 gmc sierra heater fan quit working. I lost the fifth speed months ago and a couple of days ago lost the other four, the first day the fan would come on sometimes while driving then quit after a while...

1-4 speed are the blower motor resister . It controls all 1-4 speeds, also it's under the passanger side dash around fan, the 5th speed runs off a fuse the is located in the fuse box. It's one of those square fuses , not the relays but fuses. The resister will run $15 and fuse $5 . Good luck. I have replace these before

The blower motor is on the passengers side under the dash. You might have to remove the a lower panel. This is the insulator panel. If the blower works at all just turn it on and follow the noise.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2005 GMC Envoy SLE blower fan speed #5 is not working

More than likely this should just be your resistor. You have different sized coils on the back of your resistor for all the different fan speeds. if one of them burns out or breaks then that certain speed will not work.
