My experience with the same problem turned out to be the interior light switch for the driver's door - I did not notice the lights stayed on after they should have gone out.
Switch may be stuck or worn out.

I have a 01 Lincoln Continental that wouldnt start. After paying $69 to the repair shop they told me that the alternator and belt are working like they should but the battery wont hold a charge. I took the battery to Sears (6 month old Diehard) and after a day and a half they said the battery is good. Now the car starts each time but the lights(inside and out) all flicker and when you press the gas they flicker more? After about 5 minutes the flickering stops. What could be the problem?

I have a 2002 Lincoln Continental which is misfiring on spark plug #6 and running too lean on bank 2.

Bad COP Ignition Coil cylinder #6,
causing lean O2 Sensor code on
bank 2, where cyl #6 is

$70.00 at auto parts and 15 minutes to install,
one 10 mm bolt

1.2.3.4. Pass

Change both front O2 Sensors if
over 100,000 miles on them

Both do it yourself. Hour total time

1995 lincoln continental. Sitting at stop light, abs light comes on, drove home about 5 miles and abs lignt on and off the whole time. parked car and now wont start. just clicks. any suggestions?

Anytime a starter clicks instead of turning over, you should suspect your battery is weak. Try to get a jump start and take the car to an auto parts store. Most of them will do bettery and alternator checks for no charge.

I have a lincoln mk lll won't start when key is on

That should be easy for you. Ign sw,safety sw,ballast resistor if you have one,bad ground at coil. How about starter solenoid wires on wrong terminals. Did the old starter work as wired now!! How about a schematic to make this go away quicker. Iam a 60's guy also like the mk111 . Wife has a 2004 LS

My 1996 lincoln continental will not start after I drive and park, however if I let the car cool off it starts again. What's the problem?

Sounds like your starter is bad. A bad starter will function when it's cold but once you drive around, the starter heats up and requires more power to start (a jump start). This is almost always the case. Most shops will do a free check on your battery and charging system and this should be done prior to making a repair but all things seem to point to your starter. Hope this helps and good luck!
