I'm not sure how you are getting model year for this car as that isn't stored in the computer. I can't help you if you don't tell me what the codes and symptoms are.

How should I go about diagnosing and repairing a 2002 Ford Taurus with 50,000 miles that is giving off multiple transmission error codes but shifts and runs fine and has no symptoms other than the war

Was the car parked because it had these codes 2 years ago? You need to check all connections for corrosion and or being loose to start with, including the battery cables and then load test battery.. The codes indicate that a sensor or solenoid is not getting power. There is no easy simple way to find out which it is. You will need a book to guide you through steps of diagnosing because the circuits have different voltage signals at different connections.

1998 Hyundai Accent p0300 random multiple misfire

that particular vehicle has a distributor-less ignition system. completely stand alone and electronic. change around the known good coils and see if the misfires on the computer change. see, what the trouble codes say is your numbers 1 thru 4 cylinders are misfiring inadvertently. if you move the coils around, which there are to 2 cylinders and if its 4 bad coils giving problems then the codes will move around. it could be the crankshaft tone wheel or the PCM as well. take it to a good diagnostic facility like a hyundai facility if you want it fixed right the first time. the hyundai parts are a little more expensive but they are the BEST part for your car, OEM parts are the way to go and the mechanic has probably seen this before and can tell you whats wrong before you leave easily.

Po420 code monte carlo ls 2001

PO420 code is for catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1) Usually it means that it is time for a new catalytic converter on bank number 1. Cylinder bank number 1 is always the bank with the number 1 spark plug in it.

Engine code p0420

The P0420 code is set when the oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter gives a reading the same or very close to the reading of the oxygen sensor(s) before the catalytic converter.

There are usually three possible causes...
The front oxygen sensor (before the cat) is giving an incorrect reading.
The rear oxygen sensor (after the cat) is giving an incorrect reading.
The catalytic converter is not working properly.

Since you recently replaced the cat, the logic points to the sensors, but it could be the cat again. Aftermarket converters are usually smaller than OEM and don't last as long.

For a more thorough description of the code and troubleshooting visit

Our Subaru encountered this issue several years ago under warranty. The first time the dealer replaced the front oxygen sensor. This was the cheapest repair and since it was an intermittent problem I am sure they hoped to delay the issue until the warranty was up. The second time they replaced the catalytic converter and we haven't had any more issues.

The truckseems to choke when i push on the gas

If this is fuel injected, the problem could be a bad throttle position sensor, bad mass air flow sensor, incorrect ignition timing, low fuel pressure, Bad EGR valve. If it is carbureted I would look at the accelerator pump being the problem. Not giving a pump shot when the throttle begins to open. It really depends on the year model and the engine in the truck.

Engine hunting

If the car is a fuel injected model there are three possible answers.
1/. If the oil is very old it may be affecting the gasses in the exhaust thus causing the Lambda sensor to give incorrect information to the computor-change the engine oil.
2/. Check that the throttle body is clean inside, any tar residue in the body or bypass port can cause hunting.
3/. The coolant temperature sensor may be faulty and giving an incorrect signal to the computor.
