Question about GMC K2500

1 Answer

I got in my GMC K2500 Sierra, model year 2000, and the fan suddenly doesn't work on any speed other than #5 (yep, 1-4 don't blow at all). I read a recommendation to pull off the dash and clean the copper connectors for the switch. Is this the correct procedure for correcting this problem?

Sounds like the blower resistor has gone bad. It is located under the dash near the blower motor on the passenger side.

Heater fan blows in position 3,4,5 but not 1 or 2

the blower motor resistor is fried...it is located under the dash, passenger side, costs about 10 bucks and takes 5 mins to install...happened to me, it needs to "resist" or limit the power for lower speeds, that's why it works in 3-5, no resisting needed.

AC is cold, then hot..

you need the tempature blend door motor. My 01 silverado had this issue about 1 1/2 years before i was tired of messing with it they are not hard to replace. The cover (if it is still on) for passenger side floor ducts needs to be removed and the motor is near the right side of "hump" (trans tunnel) mounted horisontial with the armature pointing upwards.

Blower fan not working correctly

I had the same problem. There is a filter down under the passenger side of the dash that clogs up and stops the air from blowing out any of the vents. I removed the filter completely and now it blows like new.
