car looses power lack of fuel when going around corners or roundabouts when there is less than half a tank. This use to happen when under quarter of a tank this has been getting progressively worse. Is this the fuel pump?

Fuel filter i would suggest but with half tank i would say it to be sending unit in tank
your vehicle should have 3 standard or more depending who owned before you
one in engine compartment
one on chassis back by the fuel tank under neithe
and the never ending sending unit in the tank this has a filter on it and could be clogged with debry also the gas you use could be causeing the sluggish ness cheap gas has debry in it

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. This will require removing the tank. I hope this helps!

1996 Ford Windstar GL jumped time

The camshaft is driven by the crankshaft by either a belt or chain. These have to stay in line or in (time ) with each other, If not the engine may not run correctly, if at all or worse can break stuff. In case you dont know, the crankshaft pushes the pistons up and down and the camshaft opens the valves so gas can go in and exhaust out. ( very simplified )

Vehicle runs until gas guage is at half full, then dies, gas added will cause vehicle to run again

Remove the fuel tank an check the line connections at the pump, good time to check the fuel guage also

1998 windstar sat for 3 months while my sis saved up money for a new starter. I put in a new starter and it spins over great but will not start up. I believe that there is water in the gas tank and it...

IF your problem is water in the gas tank you'll need to buy some gas line anti-freeze, add some gas and get the car into a warm garage to thaw the water in the fuel. The gas line anti-freeze will break up the water and allow the vehicle to start but don't be surprised if it sputters a lot a first and less later. Tip:make sure you buy the right stuff for fuel injected system.
Good luck.

Poor acceleration 1996 ford windstar gl.

Hi

This sounds decidedly like a faulty or dirty MAF sensor, which is located right next to the air filter box.

Unplug the wiring plug to the MAF and if all or most of the power is restored then you either need to clean or renew the MAF sensor.
