The a/c blower is based upon the contour a/c system and the weakest link always was and still has been that blower motor resistor... It's white plastic on the passenger side under the dash, near the center right kick panel attached to the a/c case itself with 4 wires going to it with one bolt holding it in. My guess is the connector to it will have the wires melted back a bit or the connector won't come off of the resistor itself.

Fix is usually replace the resistor and install a connector kit from Ford that was used in a recall for Contours that used a heavier gauge wire at the end near the resistor itself.

I don't have the numbers handy, but a Ford parts department guy whos been there a while will probably know what I'm talking about .

The switches were known to burn on some models also where it would melt the connector and switch... Usually I replace the switch and connector also in a pair with the resistor due to my dislike of Ford of Europe's idea of undersizing critical wires.

If the resistor ain't burnt, you may want to pull and see if the connector on the switch ain't burnt.

You mean the blower motor doesn't come on , no air coming from the vents , changing the speed doesn't do anything ? Could be the blower motor is bad , blower motor relay , fuse # 12 40 amp in the under hood fuse box . Why blower fan won't turn off after i turn off ac/heater

You relay switch is stuck on. Replace it. Second thing to check is the fan switch may need to be replaced. If you turn off your engine and then back on does the heater fan go on even when it is turned off at the switch?

Heater and ac stopped working 1996 gmc sonoma there is a clicking noise when i turn the fan low to high and also the same sound turning switch from off to different blower settings but no air comes out...

probly the switch is burnt-it happens when the blower motor gits old and draws too many amps---so replace blower at same time or else same issue again--and while u gut dashboard all apart inspect ac evaporator and heater core-theyr aging too

I can turn the ac switch to ac and then turn on the blower fan switch and nothing happens what could be the problem

Its better check first if there is a supply voltage, then check the switch, then check the fan.step by step.Thanks...
