S10 loosing fuel pressure when stepping on pedal more than a third-of-way

Are there any common problems with the 4.3 litre x engines having a problem losing fuel pressure? After spending about $1500.00 in the last two weeks I believe I have an electrical problem. I noticed last night when going down the road my truck would **** every now and then like it was having a bad connection and than would drive fine for a while. I have got a new fuel pump and filter, injector assy., MAF,MAP,TPS,Ignition Module, Distributor cap and rotor button. The mechanic checked my Alternator and said it was good. Is ther a wire that is easy to get to to check and see if my fuel pump is loosing voltage? My mechanic said that one of my banks fuel injectors was getting a low voltage problem.     The problem was a bad fuel pump made by airtex. Those pumps are junk! My mechanic said the other day he changed 2 new bad pumps in a row and then made the customer get a BOSCH fuel pump and there has been no more problems.

Bad ingition coil or capsitor
also the low fuel preasure could be comeing from inside the tank from the sending unit filter being clogged
also dont rely on alternator test to say your alternator is good these has been prooven time after time that it would show good but in actuality the alternator is bad
you need to replace alternator this is bad i hate to say but a good mechanic should have caught this general knowlegde of alternators
first semester ase certified techs are taught to recognize the signs of faulty alternators with out electric machines telling them its bad or good these still have 50/50 chance of being good or being bad
also check your torque converter it might be low on tranny fluid this is filled threw tranny

Good info, many times I have seen mechanics get close to the problem by checking the electrical system, but not going far enough. You must check the integrity of all the grounds and wires in the circuit that is suspect. I often come across bad grounds, broken wires, fuses and even EMI caused by altenator wires and plug wires. Check every aspect of the electrical system, start at the suspect sensor or component. Good luck

92 chevy S10 c/k ,4.3 litre fuel inj tbi pickup doesn't seem to be getting enough power when i step on gas,seems very weak,why? It has a new fuel pump,filter,still runs the same

Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge ?
Is the check engine light on ?
Will it rev up in park or neutral ?
Normal exhaust flow ?

Engine shuts off after driving 45 min when parking in reverse.But 15 min before this engine and slippery road icon comes on.2 hrs later car starts and drives normal then shuts off again 45 min later.

most commonly found problem relates to an electronic component heating up and shutting down. Have you checked to confirm there is fuel pressure when the vehicle shuts off. Is the check engine light on. Have you checked codes ? I suggest hooking up a fuel pressure gauge and letting vehicle run till it shuts off while monitoring the fuel pressure. If you loose fuel pressure, next step is to confirm there power going to the pump, if there is power going to the pump with no fuel pressure replace pump. Another suggestion would be to check for spark when vehicle stops running to eliminate an ignition problem. good luck

sounds like your fuel pressure regulator is not keeping the fuel pressure and every time you restart it it has to build pressure again.connect a pressure gauge to the fuel rail and check it before starting.

2000 S10 no start

I'd use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, key on engine off, 60--66 psi with spider fuel system.
Engine cranking did you visually check for spark at the spark plugs? Engine cranking is there a fuel injector pulse?
Click on the link for fuel pump relay, you can check the fuse. At the fuel pump, gray wire is voltage, black is ground.

Ok there are several options such as water in the fuel or dirty fuel for starters. Another option would be clogged fuel injectors or a dirty map sensor. Check the spark plug wires to be sure that they are on tight and none are worn at contact points such as rubbing against a sharp edge. Let us know what the code(s) say.

Check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve, you should have 13 to 13.5psi, anything other then that will give you problems in the GM TBI. If the pressure is bad, then you may have to replace the fuel pressure regulator at the bottom of the TB.

I read your problem.
I have some ideas about that.
You are right, The pressure should stay olmost the same.
But, I'm , involved in problem with aftermarket fuel pump.
I recomend A/C delco or Carter. fuel pump.

Check the Pressure regulator, that goes in the rail of the injectors. Inside of the intake, Some times is leaking.

Check the EGR valve, The carbon make the valve no close correctly, Take it out and check the pivot, they have to stay close.

Check the ground in all around of the car, speciallity the one on the frame rear , for the fuel pump.

If after all you still have the problem, Disconect the transmission seleniod connector, and put in drive, if the problem go out.
check for short cicuit in the wires and connector a transmission..

Is there more thing, but I hope this help on someting.
