Question about 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
Are there any common problems with the 4.3 litre x engines having a problem losing fuel pressure? After spending about $1500.00 in the last two weeks I believe I have an electrical problem. I noticed last night when going down the road my truck would **** every now and then like it was having a bad connection and than would drive fine for a while. I have got a new fuel pump and filter, injector assy., MAF,MAP,TPS,Ignition Module, Distributor cap and rotor button. The mechanic checked my Alternator and said it was good. Is ther a wire that is easy to get to to check and see if my fuel pump is loosing voltage? My mechanic said that one of my banks fuel injectors was getting a low voltage problem. Thanks for any help,
Bad ingition coil or capsitor
also the low fuel preasure could be comeing from inside the tank from the sending unit filter being clogged
also dont rely on alternator test to say your alternator is good these has been prooven time after time that it would show good but in actuality the alternator is bad
you need to replace alternator this is bad i hate to say but a good mechanic should have caught this general knowlegde of alternators
first semester ase certified techs are taught to recognize the signs of faulty alternators with out electric machines telling them its bad or good these still have 50/50 chance of being good or being bad
also check your torque converter it might be low on tranny fluid this is filled threw tranny

Good info, many times I have seen mechanics get close to the problem by checking the electrical system, but not going far enough. You must check the integrity of all the grounds and wires in the circuit that is suspect. I often come across bad grounds, broken wires, fuses and even EMI caused by altenator wires and plug wires. Check every aspect of the electrical system, start at the suspect sensor or component. Good luck
