Question about 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier
How do you fix error code 1404? I looked it up and saw it was a EGR valve problem. Do I need to replace? If so, where is it located?
Your best option is to replace the EGR(exhaust gas recurcilation) valve with a new one. For pics and detailed instructions on the process see this link:
Once replaced you will have to clear the trouble code by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, re-connect after a few moments.
