My ford escape idle very rough. it accelerates fine. i need help to solve the problem

If your Escape is v-6 powered a common problem believe it or not is a solenoid in the transmission that allows the torque converter to "unlock" at idle. If the solenoid is bad then the torque converter stays locked and puts a load on the engine causing rough idle in gear at stop.

Car runs very rough at stops, dies at times but restarts, higher speeds runs great ,smooth. At idle sounds like vaccum leak inside throttlebody also slight manifolds to eng. head air leak, engine shakes...

There is a TSB for the PCV hose. The elbows at both ends get holes in the underside that you can't see unless you remove them and look. This is a very, very common issue on the ZX2. You can get a new PCV hose with both elbows for about $30 from the Ford dealership. You only need to remove the air intake to gain access to the PCV hose to replace it.

Idles rough in drive, runs good on open road, noticed while idleing if i open oil fill cap if goes pufffffff like relieving pressure, should it build pressure in the motor like that,i put new plug wires,new...

All automatic ZX2's have a rough idle in gear. Ford even put out a TSB and tried to fix it with no success. The engine is internally balanced and does not have a harmonic dampener. This means you get all of the engine vibration transferred to the frame. I own three ZX2's, my sister has one, my friend has two, they all have rough idle in drive.

The noise you get from the oil filler is normal to an extent. It is an overhead cam engine so you will hear noise from the oil filler. The oil you see on the spark plugs is likely from the valve cover gasket. That is the only place the oil can come from and get onto the top of the spark plugs. It can't travel through the spark plug threads and get on top from the combustion chamber.

It is good you replaced the PCV valve (I know it is hard to reach) but did you replace the breather? There is a round black box with a hose coming from the intake that goes onto the top of the valve cover. This is the air inlet for the PCV and if it gets clogged it will allow pressure to build up in the crank case.

2003 ZX2 idling very rough after having alternator changed. Idling between 500 and 900RPM. How can I advance the timeing?

You can't easily advance timing on these engines. Remove the belt on the new alternator and check if it spins reasonably easily and there is no bad bearing in the new unit.

Also check that the wires coming from the alternator are not frayed. Especially check that the wire going to the postive battery terminal do not have any small fragments of wire touching the frame of the car, engine block, etc. This will cause a short circuit and really load down your alternator (make is seem like it is running rough but really just trying to spin the heavy load on the alternator from idle RPMs).

Idle is rough

it sounds like you have a vaccume leak , check all hoses that run to the throttlebody for cracks or holes, if you are losing vaccume than your car will run erratically , good luck.

Check vacuum hoses to MAP sensor. They can get porous after a while. Also check hose to EGR valve.
