Service Engine Soon Light

My light came on last week and eventually went out. Now, this week, it's back on and hasn't gone out yet. I've checked the gas cap and it's tight. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what's going on? I haven't changed gas or gas stations either.

Oil this would be first reason why light comes on
tranny fluid
alternator
ignition capsitor
starter solonoid
oxgen sensor
thermostat
brakes
fuel filter
crank case sensor
air filter
a/c needs refreshing
water level low
these things are things to look at for service engine light off the top of my head right now

You can have many different problems. I would suggest you call around and find out which local auto repair shop will give you the best deal on getting a trouble code reading. Once you have the code you can come back and ask how to fix it.

Have a 04 honda pilot and my check engine light came on last week, and just turned off two days ago. The code is still popping up, what can I do to get rid of the code?

If the light has gone out than whatever problem the engine computer detected has resolved itself. Eventually, if the problem does not come back, the codes will erase themselves. Otherwise a scan tool will be needed to clear the codes.

I changed my spare plug wires but still the engine service soon light still is on

I have a 1999 Mercury tracer. I was driving down the highway two weeks ago and my check engine light came on. i went to autozone and he said something about misfire on bank and vacuum leak. He said it bascially was a tune up. i got in my car the next day and the light went off. it didnt come back on. Last sunday i got a tune up and a oil change. i was driving to work today when my service engine soon light came back on. could it be because its been warm here in st louis and all of a sudden its cold. or do i just need to get it reset. i hope its nothing major because im broke right now and cant afford to get it fixed

Suddenly, No tail lights, brake lights, turns signal or back up lights At 83000 miles, 6 months ago, replaced head gaskets. 1 week later, service engine soon light came on. Tech said it was an oxygen...

just look for the blackened/burned pin on the rear light plastic connector and sand it down to re-establish a good electrical connection and save yourself $800 big ones on replacing the multiswitch.

CHECK TURN SIGNAL FUSE.IT COULD BE BLOWED OR YOU HAVE FAULTY TURN SIGNAL SWITCH.BECAUSE BACK LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS SHARE SAME CIRCUIT WITH TURN SIGNAL SWITCH.

Sometimes you have to wait a week for the light to go off, the computer has to go through several start/run/stop cycles.

Engine warning light

If you now all your basic fluid checks are all ok,than you have a computer timed check light thats coming on.If it has gone out and come on is usually something thats heat related. If all is running well and light is on,then try this ,remove the battery cables for a few seconds and put them back on. Problem light is gone.
