It probably does need a tranny fluid change, but this wouldn't account for loss of power. The tranny is only reacting to the power provided by the engine. I'd think it's starting with power loss from the engine. The easiest and cheapest place to start is the fuel filter. It's probably getting plugged and restricting fuel flow when more power is required - as in going up a hill. The filter is about 8 to 12 dollars. The auto parts store can tell you where it's located.

More info. Does the engine turn but not start? Does the engine not turn? Do the dash light come on when you turn the key on? Do the dash light go out when you turn the key?

Have a 2006 nissan quest that loses power going up a steep hill. by the time i am half way up i'm going from 60mph to 40mph.


You have to remove the upper intake. The back three cylinders probably are not firing under load. You need to get those hidden plugs/wires replaced.

try going on ebay . or goggle it. or maybe if you go to a junk yard pop the glove box in a junked quest you may get lucky.

Van will not accelerate on takeoff


NEEDS A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR MOST LIKELY, THAT HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THEM NOT SENDING SIGNAL UNTIL FULL THROTTLE.
