Renault Scenic Dynamique 03

I have a Renault Scenic with a key card. I drove the car with no problems this morning then when I went to drive it again this evening it would unlock the car but when I put the card in the slot it said card not detected?

Hope someone can help me.

    i was driving my renault scenic yesterday then last night my key card let me open the door but dash board read card not detected Renault say i need to replace the card but it is over £150 can it be done anywhere else any cheaper

    Same problem . One key is undetected, even after a battery replacement. A second key, my wife's, is detcted and works

    same problem only starts after trying it several times, can be so frustrating what can l do before taking it to the dealer

The car needs to be taken to a renault dealer. colud be a damaged card reader or card

The same is happening with my keycards too....1 keycard will open and lock the car but the other car is a bit tempermental and will only start the car after fiddling around with it and trying it several times.My hubby rang Renault and they advised a new keycard at £150!!! bit steep I thought.

there is no mention of warning messages on dash?? ie check gearbox may have oil pressure fault in gearbox which would give same symptons as you are describing needs to be put on diagnostic to check for faults in gearbox

check battery in card first should see 3v on multimeter if battery is ok if still playing up more than likely will need a new card you dont mention if both cards ae not locking or unlocking though

Engine mqnagement light stays on for at least 4 mins hard to start renault scenic dynamique
if the engine is turning over but does not fire up a common problem is the TDC sensor (top dead centre) otherwise known as the crankshart position sensor, these sensors get a build up or dirt and do not work properly making starting difficult.

hold the button in on the stalk for about 10 seconds while showing the service light this worked on my 55 scenic.doesnt always work on all models though.good luck.

save money take to a renault dealership and ask 4 a computer diagnostic test,that will find problem 4 u,sounds like yr alternator is at fault , not charging battery,hope this helps
