1996 jeep cherokee temperature control

My fan for the interior heating control runs only when the fan switch is on high. It does not blow any air on the low or medium settings.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks

Thanks for the info - it was the ceramic relay switch you mentioned.

Where is the air conditioner blower fan relay on 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee located?

The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well. A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Could be the control switch itself. Or possibly the actuator that moves the door from defrost to heater. With the heater on, try switching from defrost to heat and try to hear if you can hear anything in the dash operating.

'98 Jeep Grand Cherokee - My Heat/AC worked intermittently for a few days and now blows only heat. Changing the Heat/AC settings doesn't change the temperature at all. It blows very hot. AC is still...

The control for the AC/Heater door isn't working. To have AC the door has to close so that the hot air is not being blown into the car. When this door is closed it allows the cool air to pass through. This is either controled by vacuum or a ele. switch

My heating blows cold after a couple of minutes????

I dosen't last long either...maybe it's catching!!! Was it making heat before you changed the stat? did you put it in the right way (spring part into engine) Try running it with the cap off and heat on high. there could be air in the heater. Also check that the electric fan is not staying on or coming on too early.

No heat

You have a problem with the outlet air temperature control blend door or the motor that actuates it.

Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.

Heater not heating my Jeep

the problem is the air temperture control door (known as a blend door) is stuck or the door's actuator is not working. your engine temp is correct and not the problem.
