Question about 1999 Volkswagen Golf
I bought a second hand VW Polo a few weeks ago. I'm having a problem with the car cutting out as I'm slowing down to stop.
I told the garage whom I bought the car off. I told them that the Alternator warning light comes on when I'm slowing to a stop, and the car cuts out. They had a look at it and they said they checked the Battery and the Alternator and everything was fine. They told me the problem was the on-board computer, and that they have re-set it.
I'm still having problems with it. Can you help?
I used to have a problem like that it is in the rear lamps go to an electrician to change the lamps as there may be short circuit

Not being smart but you are being fed porkies.. it sounds like you are drawing air somewhere or you have throttle body problems. you will need to get it on to a diagnostic computer to tell.

try cleaning your battery terminals and tightening them. if that doesnt solve the problem your battery or alternator may be dying, some auto parts stores will do a charging system check for free that will tell you if one or the other is bad.
