Only cold air on passenger side

I have an 03 Buick Rendezvous CXL with manual dual zone climate control and it was recently discovered that the passenger will only blow cold air. With both the driver and passenger side turned to hot, the passenger side blows cold air strongly while the driver side blows hot air weakly.

I have the same problem on my 2006 rendezvous. I do get a little warm air if I put the control for floor vent only.

Yes, I have the same problem in my 2003. It seems like it blows less on the drivers side, but colder on the passenger. Same exact issue. Is it the climate control heat valve? Can I repair this myself?

I had my problem fixed at the dealership for about $250, they said it was the passenger side temperature actuator. However, the first time they "fixed" it they replaced the wrong actuator (driver's side) so the problem persisted. I took it back in and they admitted their mistake, ordered the new part and told me to bring it back in when the part arrived. After leaving the dealership that time it did work, leaving me to believe that it was not the passenger actuator and something simpler. I brought the car back in to let them swap out the passenger actuator just in case the second fix was temporary. I am not sure, at this point, exactly what the problem was, but they fixed it for $250.

I have a 2004 Rendezvous with the same problem...I am thinking about changing the actuator but am not sure that is the problem. A friend of mine works at a dealer ship and he spoke with one of the mechanics. He asked him and was told that sometime the sensor kinda gets stuck and you have to put the temperature on cold for 2-3 minutes and then slowly turn the knob and increase the temp all the way. I tried it several times with no luck..........

I would first check and make sure that you have enough Freon in the system, on climate control dual systems only one side will put out cold air if the system is low on Freon. Eventually, both sides will put out warm/hot air if the system continues to loose Freon. As with all leaks the system should be checked and then the leak causing component replaced/repaired.

I had the same problem this fall. They replaced the temp control module door. Luckily it was still covered by the extended warranty as it was over $700.

I would assume with multiple people having the same problems, there should be a service bulletin on this issue. may want to call dealer with vin # to verify. sounds like a heater control issue under the dash. something i would leave to the experts for repair

Why does 1 side of dash blow hot and the other cold when ac is on with the dual climate control?

Check the actuator motor on the heater it directs the air into the vents. There is probably two of them be sure to check both. The motor makes the vents move and again directs the air where you want. Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. The drivers side blows hot air and the passenger side blows cold air. The car has that dual zone climate control. I have no clue where to start.

The actuator that 'blends' cold with hot is stuck in the cold position. There are a couple of options. Disconnect the battery, then drive the vehicle around without using the AC for 10 min, if the AC is defaulted to come on after a battery interuption, then shut the car down then turn it on again. You are trying to get the electronic actuator to reset and resume proper function. Another option is to try this: Start the car, adjust the pax side full hot, drivers full cold, wait 30 sec then shut car down, then start car back up and reverse the settings, pax full cold, drivers full hot. In both solutions, the vent actuators are stuck at either the full open or full closed, so you are trying to get it to 'self check' and allow them to resume proper function. After two years, I simply removed them altogether since I live where it is hot an only need cold.works just fine....

Passenger side air is cold coming out of dash but the drivers side air is not cold. I need a solution to the problem?

if this has dual climate controls then the drivers side blend door actuator is not working properly. if it is only single climate control then a low freon level can cause the air on the driver's side to be warmer.

My AC blows hot air out the driver's side and cold

My 02 Century has dual temp controls . One for driver for passenger. Make sure you don't have the dual climate enabled and just set for heat on your side and AC on the passengers

A/c air blowing warm air driver side/ passenger side cold while a/c running

I would bet that your vehicle has what they call dual climate control. This feature allows for a great variance in tempature from driver to passenger side of the vehicle. Take a look at your owners manual as to how to turn it off. I believe there will be a button on your climate control that says "Dual" hit that button and retry it should answer your problem

the problem is a part called the air temperature control blend door acuator motor, it is deep inside the dash and the dash must be removed to replace it.
