My idle is bouncing between 0 and 1000, no matter what, even if the car is cold or hot, i have to keep giving it gas when im at a traffic light to keep it from dying. Does anyone know what this problem is? I also bought gas for the first time since i bought the car and thats when it started doing it. Does it sound like something with the fuel filter or one of the fuel injectors? someone help!!!

Check the Idle Air Control and crank sensor. See if either one is going bad. Try cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner or replace it if it's bad. It's usually a process of elimination with cleaning the IAC, MAF or even seafoaming the intake. I do these things first because its cheap. Crank sensors can be effected by temperature and the MAF and IAC will too so too. See what cleaning them will do first.
check fuel filter. it is starving for fuel. unless the fuel pump is bad. check filter first, then go from there. symtoms of a bad coolant sensor--poor cold idle, stalling, rich mixture retarded timing, slow idle speed, cold hesitation or stumble, poor fuel milage.
This has happened all of a sudden? It is sounding like it is starving for fuel...
First we will check for bad fuel. A GOOD Gasline Antifreeze can get the impurities and water out of the Gas. Get a bottle and pour the whole thing in the gas tank, bounce the car around to mix it with the fuel. Start it and let it run for a little while so see if it smooths out. If does not help then look at replacing the fuel filter as it may be clogged.
