JUST bought vehicle, european / japanese model , no user manual. have no lights in instruments, notice light switch a little sloppy . has feature to pull out switch but only turns head lights on (,pushed in or pulled out .) is switch broken or how do you turn dash lights on . Small togel switch (rolls up or down) with 4 positions beside main head light switch what is it for ? it is hooked to vaccume lines and as close as i can tell they run up to head lights help
I would first check the fuses in the engine compartment and repair / update if necessary. Also, this model is notorious for have solder connectons being burned open behind the instrument pnl. Carefully remove the instrument paneland verify connections and/or repair them.

FIRST OF ALL WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE DO YOU HAVE? IF ITS AN OLDER MODEL CHANCES ARE REMOVE SCREWS AROUND INSTRUMENT PANEL EASE OUT PANEL REPLACE THE BULBS THAT ARE DEFECTIVE. ON MOST LATE MODELS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS JUST THAT A CIRCUIT BOARD SYSTEM AND YOUR ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU MORE INFO ONCE I KNOW WHAT EXACTLY YOU ARE WORKING ON YEAR, MAKE ,MODE,ANY EXTRAS
Airbag SENSOR light bulb? Do you mean the airbag system warning lamp in the instrument cluster?
That all depends on the YEAR and MODEL of your Lincoln. (which you did not mention)
Some newer vehicles have LED's that are an integral part of the instrument cluster. If those go out, you must replace the entire cluster to fix it. Otherwise, the instrument cluster must be removed so the bulb can be replaced.
If the parking lights do not come on, they do have their own fuse, and it could be bad. This is separate from the brake lights.
But if the fuses are all good, then it could be the headlight switch. Remember the switch does the parking lights separate from the main headlights, so that you can just turn on the parking lights if you want, (Paris style). It is a feature left over from WWII, when Europeans were not allowed to run with full headlights at night, in the cities.
The Body Control Module is the problem.Models with black faced gauges are most noticeable. Also,on rainy, foggy,or overcast days, the headlights will come on,but the instrument panel lights do not.GM states these condition are "normal" and refuses warranty service-Document ID# 1530511
