Hello there
To add oil to your Porsche the car has to be worm(about 20 min of driving.
The oil is checked while the car is on idle and the level should be between those two marks on the dip stick or at the gauge .The marks on the gauge are at the same level as your dip stick.
It is very posible that you have a little overfill the engine..
The level on the gauge will go down as you drive since the oil is been sucked away from the oil tank.
Always put only 1 q at a time to the tank.
So now you should do this.
Worm engine +on idle+oil should be bellow the upper mark.About 5mm)
If not you should take some out by suction gun (that one you can get at any autoaprts store).

let me know how it goes.

Check to see if there is white foam on the dipstick when you check the oil. If there is, then you have a cracked head or a broken head gasket. Antifreeze must be getting in the cylinders.

Why does my 2006 HHR get 10.5 mpg?

You could try the old fashioned way of checking your mileage. Start with a full tank of fuel. Make a note of the total mileage on the vehicle. Drive the vehicle normally normally until the low fuel light comes on. Refill the tank to full and write down how many litres/gallons you put in. Next check your total mileage display again and write that down as well. From those numbers you can work out you fuel consumption.
Subtract you first mileage number from the current mileage number to get your total miles driven. Then it's Miles driven divided by gallons of fuel used.
As most European pumps measure in litres you'll need to divide the total litres you used by the number of litres to the gallon. Then you can divide the mileage done by that number.
*Note* The American gallon is smaller than the UK 'Imperial' gallon so make sure you use the correct one.
[ UK = 4.55 litres to the gallon (Imperial)].
[ USA = 3.78 litres to the gallon].

Oil appears in the coolant reservoir bottle

Hi,

To my knowledge, most oil coolers would be In Front Right Fender for 1995-1998 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 and would look something like the image below.
966b111.jpg
Although I have strong doubts that your seals are needing replacement. Should they be worn out, defective oil seals would exhibit leaks that would be noticeable. Nonetheless, if you would follow the two hoses connected to the oil cooler, they would lead you right back to their entrance and exit points in the engine.

Oil mixing with the coolant and visible in the coolant reservoir indicates another problem, most probably head gasket.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

2000 porsche 911 has oil in coolant

Check your Oil cooler ,which is the aloy mount of the oil filter with two water pipes on. Be Careful first to see whether is the engine oil mixes with coolant and not the Automatic Transmission Fluid if your car is Automatic. If is red colored oil surely is the Automatic Gear box Fluid which is other subject to follow. You have to remove the radiator to renew it or if they have the auto fluid cooler radiator. Good luck.

Oil pump seems to only work at high rpm/ a lifter or valve is ticing on driver side need to know what to do its soposed to be new motor

no oil pressure at low rpms is most likely caused by sludge in engine i had a car once that had no oil pressure at all loud ticking on rocker arms my advice that my dad gave me was drain all the oil buy 2 gasllons of diesel put on gallon in oil (has enough oil in it to lubricate but will not burn like gas do to no spark and not enough pressure) run with the diesel in it for 5 minutes drain that gallon of diesel and put second gallon of diesel in and run for an additional 5 minutes when you drain that last gallon of diesel it should be a brown color but still transparent change filter and put new oil in and check to see if that has solved your problem

How much does it cost to do an oil change on a porsche 911 carrera 2003

Probably anywhere from $49 to $89 on up depending on which oil change you choose, using full synthetic oil. e.g. Walmart prices.

Maybe at the dealer it's more.

Kia Sorento fuel gauge prob.

What I do is go by miles per gallon and fill the tank when I've driven enough for it to drop. As long as the odometer works it's all good. You can fix it if you want to go to the trouble. It's either a bad card in the tank module or a resistor fell off in the instrument panel.
Panels can be refluxed just like motherboards by tossing it in the oven for a few seconds. Tank modules have to be replaced.
