Have you tried “lochtite strong hold” thread sealer and allowed 8 hours to setup?

My 2001 eclipse will not start. i try and turn the key then a loud soaring grind noise is made and it wont turn over>>>>>>

I'm not sure what you mean by "a loud soaring grind noise", but an educated guess would be a bad bendix on your starter. Second to this could be some missing teeth on the flywheel.

I'd suggest you check with friends, relatives, etc. and see if they can recommend a reputable local mechanic to look into this for you.

Good luck!

I INSTALLED ASTARTER IN 92 CHEV PU WORKS OK BUT AT FIRST GET GRINDING GEAR NOISE.

Sometimes the starter needs a shim installed to help this problem. If there was not a grinding noise with old starter you should be able to install a shim, these shims you can get at your auto parts store. they come in several thicknesses, most times you get 2 or 3 different thicknesses in a pack. Start with the thinner one and loosen the two starter bolts 3 to 4 turns then remove bolt furthest from engine , shim will slide in and slot at end should stradle bolt, align hole at other end and install other bolt and retighten bolts. test starter for noise,if noise is gone your done, if not try next thicker shim till noise is gone sometimes damage to the teeth on the flywheel can cause this noise but try the shims first. Good Luck!

1990 Eclipse 1.8L. Fully chargered battery. all

It is very possible the "starter Solenoid" has failed within the starter. If this is the case the starter will do little or nothing. Also check connections at starter, lose cable? You should be able to jump across the starter to see if it works; if nothing then you know it is the starter. Oh yea, if it has an automatic tranny it may be the Neutral Saftey switch failed or out of adjustment; try wigglying around the gear shifter or try starting in neutral.

I hope this may have assisted you,
Tom

Grinding starter on my 1988 Ford Bronco II

the sound you hear is the starter grinding against broken teeth on the flywheel, for that to be repaired the flywheel on the vehicle will need to be replaced.

Car makes grinding noise when I try to start, after new bolts were installed, started right up then 2 days later, it began grinding again but starts right up if someone holds the starter and engine...

try using some thread locker on the bolts. If this still doesn't help, you may have to get a helicoil repair kit. These kits repair damaged threads by drilling the bad ones out, tapping the hole with new threads, then screwing a thread adapter in to bring it back to the original size.
Hope this helps:)

Car makes grinding noise when I try to start,

You may need to install what they call shims in between the starter and the flywheel in order to align it correctly with the flywheel
