Be careful what you unplug under the hood! The master plug for ECU is very similar to the OBD2 connector. Taking that out could cause a world of trouble!
The OBD2 port will be located under the dashboard in the driver's footwell. It will be tucked up out of site so you might have to get your head into the footwell to see it.
obd II fuse located ???? Or do you mean fuse for DLC - the connector under the dash that you plug the scan tool into ?
GIG LTR fuse 15 amp under hood fuse box
This is OBD - On - Board -Diagnostic Connector. On Board Diagnostics, OBD-II, is required on all automobiles and light trucks in the United States from 1996 onward. OBD-II is a set of specifications for monitoring and reporting on engine performance in modern automobiles. If the Service Engine light is on, then connecting a Code Scanner on OBD Connector, the Code is picked up and the code explanation can be found. If this is a False Code, this can be Cleared with the code scanner, after reading the code.
On the 1988 XR7 the Ford diagnostic connector is located under the hood and just ahead of the right front strut tower. It's not the familiar looking OBD-II 16 pin connector but is the Ford style two part connector consisting of one single wire with a female spade type connector and another odd shaped connector with 5 or 6 female spade connectors in it. The typical auto parts store OBD-II reader won't work to read codes on this one, instead you need someone with an older tester to see what is happening and the data available from the system is quite limited also. Hope this helps and good luck!
It doesn't have obd 2, It has a eec 4 connector under the hood. They make scanners to read codes on these but if you scanner only has one plugin, it isn't going to work.
looked your truck up on an online database, ford calls that port a dlc (data link connector) and says that it is located in the passenger's compartment of the vehicle attached to the instrument panel and is accessible from the driver's seat.
