Problem for Ford 2000 Expedition
2000 ford expedition xlt 4x4 with 5.4
.the shifter on the column will move freely from the park position ,but will not go into any gear !! could this be in the electronic shift module or what? wife drove to store came back out ,and would not go into gear.. the trans not leaking fluid and was no indication of any pblms like slippage

- WELL IT ENDED UP BEING MY SHIFTER CABLE INSIDE THE CLOUMN FOR ANYONE WITH FUTURE PROBLEM LIKE ME / THNX FOR REPLYING .. YEAH IT IS KNOWN PBLM WITH THE 2000 EXPEDITIONSSame Problem

- 2003 Expedition with same shift cable problem. A CHEAP Ford clamp that held cable against firewall, let loose and cable melted outer cover from exhaust manifold. Inner cable merely pushed in and out of melted hole, thus not shifting. NOT covered by warranty, but was in a service bulletin warning dealers about this. - GuestFeb 08, 2009
