oil leaks from points like bad rocker cover gaskets --loose oil filters---front and rear main seals and oil hoses--- loose head gaskets at the oil hole . Check the ground and see where the oil is dripping to get an idea if the oil is from the front, rear. left or rights side
well it could be several things like pan plug seal cracked, oil pan leaking, rear main seal bad, front engine seal bad, head bolts not properly torqued, head could be cracked, but I would start with the oil pan drain plug seal and work from there.
OIL LEAK COULD BE COMING FROM OIL FILTER SEAL. OIL LEAK FROM THE REAR OF ENGINE COULD BE REAR MAIN OIL SEAL.LEAK IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE COULD BE FRONT CRANKSHAFT TIMING COVER SEAL LEAKING OIL.
if it is slippery and stinky, your heater core is leaking. otherwise you have a leak around your windshield and rainwater is coming in and not drying out as it is under the mat. very hard to track down, get some clear aquarium sealer and get to work.
The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale
hi this means you have an air leak in the system, something is leaking, could be the master cylinder or a rear wheel cylinder, to check if its the master cylinder, look under the dash where the brake peddle is ans see if it is wet or damp, also look in the engine bay where the survo is and see if it is dripping or damp around that area, to see if the rear wheel cylinders are leaking look under the truck at the rear of the wheels they will be either dark and damp and oily, or dry and dusty if not leaking, if leaking you need to replace the one that is...hope this helps
We had same--water on driver side rear floor (soaked!). Driver side front floor seemed dry until feeling UNDER rug, was slightly damp. We found the location of TWO leaks causing this.
Leak #1 was through the parking brake line/cable seal; Recaulked with silicone. Removed plastic trim on floor between floor and door to reveal metal channel filled with water.
Leak #2 was where the door meets the car, near the hinge. It was the accordian-looking tube housing the wiring for the door. The big, rubber, circular plug connecting it to the main part of the car had come loose and water ran down through that, into the SAME metal channel filled with water from leak #1; will seal with silicone.
Note: We found that the channel filled extensively near the front door, BUT the carpet edge from the floor near the rear seat was dipping into it, wicking it up to the rear floor. Also, upon acceleration, the water in the channel gushed toward the back, thus soaking the rear carpet.
These leaks were found by removing all plastic trim (covering edges of carpet by doors), then one of us pouring water into specific areas of the exterior of the vehicle, and the other one watching closely with a flashlight for any signs of dripping.
put a drip try on garage floor and ignore this minor problem because it could cost more than the cars worth to repair it .Or trade it in on a scrappage plan and get yourself a nice dawoo matiz ,ford fiesta or opel corsa that does mega miles to the gallon
SERIOULSY!!!!! first, go to a car wash, steam clean/ shampoo the entire engine (taking care to avoid directly spraying electricl components/distributor) then drive for about 10 km (6 miles) and look underneath the hood and see where the oil is possibley leaking from. Remeber, oil can leak down from the top and make somethine below it look as though that is where the oil is coming from. Also, the fan air can blow the oil from front to back making the oil drip from all over. Possible places that oil leaks come front: top = valve cover. front = cam shaft or crank shaft seal if from the rear = could be rear main seal.
Thank you so much! I will get it checked ASAP
