To take off the door pannel you must take out the 4 screws at the bottm of the pannet and the 2 hex screws under the armrest. then you must pry out the clips around the edges, i sued a flat head screw driver, and then unhook your wiring. To take the window off of the regulator you must position the window, most of the way down, and remove the 2 bolts holding the window clips to the regulator. DO NOT DRILL OUT THE RIVETS IN THE WINDOW. you may have to reposition the window to get the second bolt. Once that is done your window will be free and you will either have to take it out or hold it up with or door stop, or, I used a small peice of 1x2 to wedge the window up.

To take the regulator assembly out, which you must to get to the window motor, Undo the bolts and drill out the 3 rivets holding it to the door(you car replace these rivets with bolts later to make the next time easier) then unscrew the regulator bar from the scizzor joint and pull it out, the rest is self explanitory and installation is the reverse of this.

I used the haynes Repair manual i got for $20.00 at Advance Discount Auto Parts
I suggest you buy the book, it helps alot.

And if all else fails, take it to a mechanic, but thats only last resort.

Hope this helps,

The passenger rear window won't roll up or down from the drivers controle it clicks in the passenger front door. it will roll down in the passenger rear door but not up. the window modulator rolls up and...

I have the exact same problem on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004. The rear passenger window rolls down only from the rear passenger window and won't go up or down from the front. It has to be in the wiring because the problem was intermittent initially and a new window motor does the exact same thing. If you figured it out or have the wiring diagram please let me know.

Cant roll down windows from drivers door. i can roll down the passenger side window from that door but i cant roll down any other window.

The Master Switch may be bad. Thats the first thing to verify good or bad. It may be a big deal to find a wiring diagram and then verify where voltage is lost. All of the window power goes to the Master Switch,(through the lock out switch) then on to each window. Except for the right front window. The diagram is confusing, it does not appear that the lockout switch turns off the RF passenger window.

Window off track

you need to remove the interior door shell and check out the tracks and guides (the things that the metal frame that holds the window ride in). they can get worn and they will start popping out and if they do it once they usually keep doing it. after you look in there and see what is not happening like it should you can usually go to a shop that repairs car windows and buy the parts you need. i had to replace some parts in my volvo windows and after i did it lasted till the engine died many years later. hope that helps

Radio and electric windows inop

Sounds like the water really screwed up the wiring harness and controls for the windows. Take inner door panel off and check wires for rust same thing with the window controls. radio and speakers you will have to do the same thing. All so check the fuses boxes for rust ones under the dash and ones in the engine compartment. You might have to replace most of the relays under the hood.

Driver's window

I have the same problem, its more than likely a sticking motor. I just punch the door panel below the window switch (where the motor is) and it works. You may have to bang it a few times but i have to do it about once a week on the front right or my car.
