Several times the 12V battery had died in my Pruis because the headlights or other electronics is one while I'm on a conference call in the car. After calling AAA several times for a jump, I got a portable power source It's great. I've never needed a jump again.

Unfortunatly, the Aux Battery on Prius is susecptible to premature replacements. All the Aux battery does is "power-up" the various ECU's which in turn allows the HV battery to start the car. The AUX battery does NOT operate the starter.

I have a 2004 Prius, purchased in August of 2004, ... I just replaced mine after 5 years since my car would not start if left ... Turned out the fault was in the brake light switch. .... I open and close the door to make sure lights are all off. ... Toyota dealer DOES know that you have bad battery.

When I start my 2010 prius it starts, but buy the time I take my food off the brake the start button turns red.

Sounds like your starting battery is going dead. You may want to either go onto Prius Chat's website and search for this: 1NZ-FXE Charging - for self install directions. Good luck!

I have a 2005 toyota prius, with the key panic button the horn sound but when I press the horn on the steering wheel the horn is dead, what is it a relay, contacts?

This is likely due to a defective horn contact under the steering wheel called the clock spring ribbon rotating contact drum. You must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel (requires special tools) to replace the contact.

2009 prius battery dead (we think). No lights, very dim check eng

Yes you can slowly charge the battery in the truck, but make sure the battery is disconnected first, make sure you unhook the neg first then the positive, and when reinstalling it hook the positive back up first the the negative you want absolutely no sparks.I have also had to jump start these vehicles at that battery and had the owners drive them 50+ miles and they were fine after that. For those cars it is recommended that they have to be driven or started for a length of time every day or two.I would call your local Toyota dealer and find out for sure.

I have a Prius and the anti theft icon flashes when the car is off... it just started doing it... will it run my battery down

As far as I know, both my original 2005 and my current 2007 flash that light when the car is off. I believe that is the whole point - to show any would-be thief that the car may be "protected." A small battery can flash an LED light for weeks or months or even longer, so I wouldn't worry about the blinking LED draining your Prius' 12V battery.
