I do have a volvo S70 yeat 98. The trunk dont close it seems to got locked up; i tryed to fix it anf the only lock I found its for the seats. Csn sny onr hrlp me how to fix it mysrlf?

This is a diagram of the lock assembly in the trunk lid. The highlighted area shows the lock in the open position. If you look at your lock assembly and it doesn't look like this, it may be in the locked position causing the trunk to not close. use the trunk key and turn the lock cylinder. You may have to use a screwdriver to gently pull on the lock hasp while using the key to unlock. If the hasp is in the locked position, it should open and allow the trunk to close properly

AUTO TRUNK LID DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE

adjust the latch so that the catch will lock over properly. You may need to use a round bar ( screwdriver blade ) Place it under the latch and while pressing on the release button pull the latch out to the open position. The latch may be 1/2 closed before the boot is put down and the latch will not go any further

Trunk latch is in the locked position and i can,t close my trunk

The latch possibly needs flicking to the unlock position, press the button or operate the trunk handle as you flick the latch, it possibly hit something prior to hitting the keeper and put it in the lock position.

My 1999 caliver trunk is not closeing no more, why

have a look at the trunk latch mechanism.sometimes they get closed when they should be open(the fingers that lock the trunk lid closed).if its in the closed position just unlock the trunk with the key and use something to pop open the lock(fingers) then the trunk will close again.

I accidentally pulled the interior trunk release of 2008 volkswag

Try a screw driver, and release the trunk release at the same time and unsnap the latch, the latch thinks it is closed, because the latch never opened back up to allow the striker to go in it and trigger the latch to close, the latch is in closed mode, you will have to manually unlatch the latch sort of speak.

I have a 2002 chevy cavelier, i used the button on the dash to open the trunk, now the trunk will not latch when i close it.

Try pushing the button under the dash back into its normal 'unactivated' position, and see if the trunk will latch shut. It could be a sticky latch mechanism in the trunk, which some silicone lubricant or WD40 might help to free up. Check also that the latch has not actually returned to the 'locked' position prior to trying to close the trunk. That would definitely stop you from closing the trunk properly! Try unlocking the trunk latching mechanism again.

Trunk lid pops open when Locking the Vehicle. Have to close it everytime i lock. This happened after an accident and replacing entire trunk lid.

I will do it in my own way since the wiring is messed up, and when i press close on my Remote, the trunk pops open. I will Harness this problem to benefit me since my remote does not have a trunklid switch. I will route the Motor (that has a piston) wire through the switch relay (located just above the vehicle ID plate area), so that opening the trunk lid is only possible when i keep pressing the trunk open swich (on the trunk lid) while at the same time pressing the close/LOCk button on my remote.

2005 audi a8 trunk + upgrades for ipod integration

I had exact same problem, but what I found out was a three step solution to the problem.
1) The trunk lock above the trunk lid tself - sometimes looses coiling retention for the lock to work properly, which in effect does not properly lock wrap around the pull down electronic unit located in the body of the car/trunk that catches and pull the trunk lid down SOLUTION: check and make sure lock is works properly. you cab check by opening trunk and locking it with remote key, then pry the lock with a screw driver to see if it unlocks or stays locked

2) The motor catching unit in the body of the car/trunk that catches the lid and draws it down can be off balance (sitting too low to catch the lock (upper trunk lid with lock) to pull it down and stay locked. Have a mechanic - Audi preferrably, check the positon and allignment to adjust it, so it can catch trunk lid and lock to stay locked. HOPE THIS HELPS!
