    how do you change the lights in the radio on a 1998 chevy 1500 pickup

    1999 k1500 can the bulbs that light up the push buttons be replaced.2 of them still work but the rest are out.

What is the dimmer relay for?


look for a fuse that control the clock and interior light may be labeled int. light.Did you recently installa aaftermarket radio or anything having to be wired??

The Radio Fuse is located in cavity 29, 15AMP.

Lights not working and need help


sounds like a bad ground in the light system, not likly related to the radio.

Installed new radio, now radio works but no instrument panel lights. Turn siginal, shift light, 4x4 light and all other work, just no gauge lights. I did notice a dimmer positive wire that was not used...


I would try jumping power to that wire and see if they turn on. That is most likely the problem. I would just jumper it to a power source again after in the same manner that is was before.

Fuses are either bad or good no in between. Bulbs are the same way. You've got a dead short in your wiring most likely. Get that fixed or your car can burn up. No kidding. Could be a failing radio drawing way too much for the wiring size.

Radio/Clock stopped working but comes back on when I hit a bump


I suspect the problem is with one of the radio circuit boards, but check the connector at the bqack of the radio first, if that is clean and tight then the radio will need to be sent out for repair.
