2000 k1500 engine hesitation when push on gas pedal

I also have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 5.3 liter. It quit running, determined the fuel pump was bad, replaced it the filter and fuel pressure regulator, and it started running right away. Drove it two days, next morning it would not start. It sounded like engine would hit but never would start. Pulled it to the local garage, the next day they went to work on it, and it started right up with no codes and no check engine light. Picked it up, next day check engine light came back, that was the gas cap...apparently you are not supposed to let the engine run when refueling. So now I am on the road but when driving in say a 40 to 50 MPH and I push the gas peddle to build speed the engine misses, and bucks, and hesitats. If you just push right on down on the gas the transmission seems to down shifts and rpm''s go up to, or over 2000 and it seems to run fine. But just as soon as you slow down like starting up a hill and you push on the gas applying a slow load it does it again, and it is getting worst daily. If you do not push on down on the gas and increase the rpm''s and you let it continue to miss the entire truck jerks and bucks and the check engine light flashes a few times. I have a OBD II code P0453, Evaporative Emmission Control System Pressure Senor High Input. I am seeing everything from "Open or Short in vapor pressure sensor circuit" "Bad vapor pressure sensor" "Bad ECM" and "wiring short on the ground" at various locations on the net. Can anyone help me out?

Throttle hesitation

Is the check engine light on, and have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge ?
The most common cause of that problem is a faulty Throttle Position Sensor but it should set a code in the computer.

2000 alero gas pedal hesitation as well as shut off when slowing or stopping

Usually the problem of hesitation is caused by a faulty throttle position sensor or low fuel pressure, and stalling is a dirty throttle body or faulty idle air control valve.

Car idles fine but will not go over 2000 rpm's when the gas pedal is pressed. Lots of hesitation and some backfiring when gas pedal is pressed.

We need to know more about what car and engine you have, but the primary suspect is that the timing belt has slipped and things are out of time.

1996 Chevy K1500 4.3L Vortec Engine Has a Check Engine Light But the only symptom is seems sluggish at 65mph have to put the pedal almost to the floor. Shucks auto put scanner on and says something is...

Well this is really pissing me off as well and mine missfires and backfires at about 65 as well but it only does it under load or pushing on the gas. It is NOT the c02 sensors I replaced all 4 and changed spark plug wires and plugs and changed rotor in ditributer. Took out cat converter. Try this if you put it in 2nd gear and push on the gas slowly up to or at 1800-2000 rpm does it sputter and spurt. This is on my 1997 chevy shortbox I cant figure out what is wrong with it and I sould have just bought a new dam enging and tranny and it would probably cost the same as all this is going to cost in the end GRRRR.

2000 mercury cougar hesitating/jerking

First, disconnect neg battery cable 10 minutes and reattach to clear codes.
Lean condition means it is not getting same fuel as other side of engine.
Since you had it scanned before, try Autozone to see if new results.
You might try a TPS switch which regulates spark and fuel feed. At lower speeds EGR starts to open-you should have code for a problem there.

I have a similar problem. The engine run fine at idle but hesitate if increase the rpm with no load. If I pump it hard it is ok. I am not able to find the problem yet.
