Question about Renault R18
We just purchased a 98 Nissan Sentra that ran perfectly, no problems, but it has a TSS anti-theft device that you have to scan a little disk on the keychain before the car will start. We've had it less than a week, and yesterday it started fine, but as I was driving out of the driveway, it died and now will not start. Thinking it had to do with this anti-theft device, my husband disconnected the wires and reconnected them directly to the original wires, but the car still won't start. It is getting gas and spark, and we replaced the spark plugs just in case that was it. Now since he worked on starting it all day yesterday, the starter burned up. Is there something else he needs to do to disconnect this anti-theft device? The car was running perfectly, and now it won't start at all, with no warning signs. I called the 1-800 number on the back of the scan thing, but it's a gay porn number now! We are replacing the ruined starter today, but how can we be sure this anti-theft device is totally disconnected. We just want the normal car ignition back! Thanks for any help you can give!
