It sounds as though you might have a sticking lifter. Try doing a compression test, or performing a cylinder leakdown check to see what your readings are.

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE About a week ago the check engine light came on, it started running rough, especially at idle. Computer diagnostic results showed missfire in cylinder 6. I replaced...

i would definately replace the coil. pretty certain that will solve your problem. do not drive with misfire or that can cause fruther damage such as catalyst failing, which is prety expensive.

My check engine light come up w/ all these code P0305,P0440,P0441,P0446 what's wrong Thanks

po305 is related to missfire on #5 cylinder
po440 is related to fuel tank pressure
pO441 is for evaporator purge flow malfunction
po446 relates to vent control valve electrical circuit malfunction

missfire is seperate from the other codes
as for the other three codes replace the vent control valve solenoid located near the charcoal canister the oth3er codes can relate to a faulty solenoid

after replacing light will only go out if you clear through a scan tool or three drive cycles of over 10 min each

I just got a 2005 Toyota Matrix and it drives amazing but the check engine light came on. What could be the problem?

90% of the time the check engine wont create a drivebabilitie problem, because is an emission item that is failing the only time is when there is a missfire and the check engine is flashing, this missfire may damage the catalityc converter. Is not good speculate what could be the check engine light the best course of action is go to your mechanic or autozone or get one of those inexpensive scanners and scan the system.

you may try your rotor button and distributor cap. and spark plug wires. try your map sensor also they tend to cause a lot of misfiring if they go bad.hope this helps.

Hydro Carbons are usally from an engine missfire. It may be that it is such a sligh miss that you cannot feel it. What is your timing set at? I would try setting it at 2* advanced and see what that does for you.

Hi, I have a 1997 Porsche 993. Motronic 5.2 M07. I am getting these fault codes 1) 62 misfire emissions-relvant 2) 51 Cylinder 2 misfire emissions-relevant) 3) 54 Cylinder 5 misfire ...

misfire :-------- try checking your 02 sensors /fuel pump and filter.

for 51 cylinder misfire :---
Change the coil. Period. Very easy to remove from the vehicle if it's a 4 cyl. Follow that spark plug wire from the spark plug to the other end. What it's attached to you should replace
for 54 cylinder 5 misfire :---First you have to eliminate the most obvious problems, like spark plug and spark plug wire. If you replace those and you still have a misfire, then it's a good idea to look for a vacuum leak in the intake manifold
