Question about 2007 Volvo C70

1 Answer

Oil on side windows

At a few months old my C70 was "recalled" for an update to roof system. What was done I've ner been told. However, ever since after rain what seems like excess oil smudges down the windows. The dealer has had the car back numerous times to try and solve the problem. Alas, ni joy. Volvo customer service don't know the meaning of customer service and should be closed down.
Apart from a regular soapy wash, any ideas?
Anyone else with nthe same problem?

VW beetle convertible 53 plate. the roof works one day and then not the next. It has never had a problem going back up but when you want it down some times works sometimes doesn't. Is there a easy...

The beetle has also been recalled for a sunroof issue, I found this website:-

http://newbeetle.org/forums/questions-issues-concerns-problems-new-beetle/43357-new-sunroof-recall.html

Where it says:-

"Sorry if I put this in the wrong place but I just got a recall notice for the sunroof drains on my bug.
It's SERVICE ACTION 60A7/S9 and pertains to all NBs from 2001 - 2007 equipped with sunroofs. It's also for certain Jettas, Audi A4s, Golfs, GTI, and Passats. You'll probably get a notice but I wanted to let people know just in case, for some reason, they don't get the notification...maybe because they're not an original owner etc.

VW will clean, modify and inspect the sunroof drains and tubes. There's also a form to be reimbursed if you've had to pay for any problems in the past".

Which means that, if you or your car didn't go to this recall, then VW will sort it all out for you for for free. Its a manufacturer's problem.

Just pop in to a dealership and ask, if its been done, you're back to square one but its worth a crack................. Good Luck.

However, here's a website which shows you how to service your sunroof.

One of the microswitches at the latches is not engaging stopping the cycle for safety reasons in case something is stuck, open the roof again and inspect the latch down areas for foreign objects or a misaligned microswitch.

1998 volvo c70 drivers side, window winder mechanism (cable) snapped. have been told have to buy motor and everything that goes with it to fix. how do i replace it?

I have replaced many of these, and it is a very difficult job. There are many steps you need to take as you are removing and re-installing the new window regulator that are crucial for a properly adjusted and operable window. Find someone who has experience replacing these or you will have wind and water leaks, and the door will not open or close like it should. Sorry to be a downer, but this is the reality of your situation.
