I replaced fuel pump and fuel filter but car still wont start. it will only crank if i keep putting starting fluid in it. what would be the problem?

Bad fuel pump, loose wiring, blown fuse, or bad fuel pump relay. don't think just because a fuel pump is brand new out of the box it's good. i got an A/C delco fuel pump, installed it in the customers truck tried to start it .... nothing. checked all wiring, grounds, fuse, relay etc. everything was good. pulled the pump back out of the tank and wired it direct to a battery and it did nothing. got another pump installed worked just fine.

When you say it fires with starting fluid can you keep it running with the starting fluid or does it just fire while cranking the starter then stop when the key is turned to run if it keeps running with the starting fluid then you still have a pump problem or the filter could be plugged or the carb could be bad but if it'd fuel injection then it might just not getting enough pressure fuel injection takes high pressure

Spray a small amount of starting fluid in throttle body try to start if it starts and dies replace fuel pump and filter and strainer.also check fuel pump relay

How do you know it's getting Fuel? Sure sounds like it is not getting fuel since the car will Giggle when Starter Fluid is added.
Can you hear the Fuel pump run for a second when you turn the key to the RUN position?

I have 95 3.4 camaro replaced fuel pump crank sensor fuel relay fuel filter starter. still wont start will turn over but wont start spray fluid in breather and it starts but then dies please help
With anoid light (special light for testing) check injector connector if the anoid light blink has you crank engine, if yes check fuel pressure.

Car wont start. replaced fuel pump (twice), fuel filter, fuel strainer, tested starter, replaced crank sensor, replaced computer. can put fuel directly into intake and will start.
Definitely not a knock sensor.

Just to clarify, you spray starting fluid in the intake and it will start and run for a short time and then stall?

replace your injectors. your vehicle is getting the fuel to start from the starter fluid. however the injectors arent giving it the gas that it needs to stay cranked

I have a 92 lumina that wont start it cranks fine ..so i checked and im getting spark..so i moved to the fule i sprayed starting fliud and it started for the few seconds still fluid was gone, so i pulled...
Try changing your filter first if that does not work it could be your pump. It is possible for the pump to still pump fuel up through your filter but if it is not putting out sufficient pressure then your car wont start. Most fuel injection systems require around 35psi to fire the injectors.

check if the fuel pump is working, if you have someone near the tank and someone else crank motor you should be able to hear a bzzzzzz rom the tank from the pump. if no noise is heard then hit or thump the tank, this can make a fuel pump start to work again, if it starts, then the pump is almost dead
