Question about 1996 Audi A4
Hi,have just bought a 96 a4 avant 1.9 se tdi which runs great, but alarm sounds and lights flash about 3hrs or so after parking,no owners manual for referance, had to switch it off at 3am this morning, this car has no remote central locking,i have 3 keys,1 seems to be the original,other2 are audi replacements, need urgent advice on either fixing this or just swiching alarm off and relying on immobilizer only, please advize, thanks, dean.
I also had the same problem and mine too was usually because I had either a window or the sunroof slightly open. If it is summer and you need to leave them open slightly or if you have a pet in the car then heere is a great tip. There is a small square button near the bottom of the door pillar to the right of the drivers seat and if you press this before locking the car it will set the alarm for the whole car with the exception of the main cabin so movement will not set the alarm off. The locks, boot, ignition etc all stay alarmed until you switch it off.
