MAF is Mass Air Flow it is located in the air induction pipe between the air filter box and the throtle body. Try getting some Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner and clean it. Make sure it is completely dry before you reinstall it. Good Luck.

Why does my car throw the code P0100 and P0325? I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx. and it has a random misfire once in a while.

Hi,

Often a single issue can trigger multiple diagnostics codes, especially if the circuits are closely related.

Code P0100 = Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit malfunction

The computer has detected an issue with the MAF sensor.

- Verify the MAF sensor wiring is connected and wiring is in good condition
- Unplug and reconnect the MAF harness
- Check that voltage to the MAF sensor is within factory spec

Code P0325 = Knock Sensor # 1 Circuit malfunction

A knock sensor tells the engine computer when one or more of your engine's cylinders are "knocking", that is, exploding the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can be damaging to the engine if prolonged. The computer uses this information to tune the engine so that it doesn't knock. If your knock sensor wasn't operating properly, so that it was always indicating a knock, the engine computer's response may have been to change the ignition timing on your engine. Knock sensors generally bolt into or thread into the engine block.

- Check condition of the knock sensor wiring.
- Test the 'Ohms' reading of your Knock Sensor (undo the connector and measure the pins) to ensure it is within spec (ask Nissan for this measurement). If out of spec, replace the knock sensor.

Cheers,

I checked the "service engine

Check the 02 sensor for starters. The code indicates a slow response from the sensor, which is usually the sensor but sometimes bad upstream exhaust leaks.

I have an 87 trans am with a 305 TPI with an unknown problem

Check the knock sensor on the right side of the block, below the head, and above the oil pan.Check to see if it is plugged up good. Then check the wire all the way up to the wire harness,to see if it is grounding out on the engine somewhere.I hope this was helpful261213.jpg

I have a 88 camaro with the 5.7tpi. recently, I

NO THERMOSTAT!!
id say he knew it would overheat
get radiator checked[ id replace it anyway as its cheaper than new motor & trans if its auto] !!!
thats a lot cheaper & good insurance
also get engine REVERSE FLUSHED to get rid of any buildup in the head & block!
check all welsh plugs aswell & retighten the head bolts to specs becauseof the heat or the gasket could leak!

Could be a thermostat. Try changing the thermostat and get it too operating temperature and see how it goes. Only have limited knowledge of mechanics but hope this at least helps in some way :)
