Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent

Hyundai accent 2001 no spark at start but once started runs fine!

Vehicle will wind over well while starting but won`t fire up then it will fire into life no probs and happily run without a problem! i am mechanic and was hoping to chase up some info on diagnosis with said vehicle! Was contemplating possible errors such as crook cam angle sensor but have no info on the diagnosis procedure of vehicle eg, code testing and location of ADSL connection also codes if there are any as check engine lamp doesn`t seem to be staying on after start up! vehicle seems to have ignition power and it has great spark when running(will jump an inch easy to earth with a bright blue glow and has no miss as such) so my first thought was the sensor as i mentioned! Ido really need some tech info as i am not working in the trade and r helping a friend with vehicle and is hard without the correct litrature! Any help would be appreciated! Andrew!!!

I have a similar problem. I have replaced the cam position sensor. The engine runs great till you turn it off and then some times when hot it cranks but will not fire. Thinking mayby a relay. While on the coil is energized when turned off it de-energizes and wont pull in till cool. I don't know .

I have a similar problem. The coil will "arc"from coil pack too the mounting frame. At first it was hard to start when the engine was warm but now it doesn't mater what the temp. is.I replaced the coil pack with a brand new one and the results are the same.it's still arcing.

i have the same problem with my 2001 accent. the car will start easily for many times over and over but then it wont. after trying again and again then it will. The car was under warranty at the time, apparently the dealer fixed it with what he told me was the crank angle sensor?????? (i think it was that, a cable about 20cm long with a thicker tube bit at the end, electrical lookin thing) it fixed the problem for about 6months and now i have the same problem except the car is no longer under warranty. spark plugs have been replaced, done a system purge as well. i dont want to be ripped off by a mechanic, does anyone now how much it will cost for it to be replaced? or if its simple i could do it but i dont know where to find it. any help is appreciated.

i have a similar problem like you guys. i was driving and my car suddenly died and it didnt wanna start back up, i checked the fuel pump and it wasnt working, i replaced it and it STILL didnt work i was reading one of these coments and someone said "it could be the o2 censor." i disconnected it and the fuel pump worked a couple times, and it quit AGAIN! could it be the crank position censor or can someone give me advice? Thank you.

I had this problem on my 2001 accent too. It turned out to be the front O2 sensor. Try disconnecting that by the exhaust manifold. If it starts right up that's your problem

Hi,
Just fixed one of these by replacing the crank position sensor.
Symptoms were basically not restarting after warmup and spontaneously dying in route when warmed up. Still had a pretty reliable cold start though. I assume there is some kind of coil pickup in the sensor that develops hairline crack(s) with age ( >100,000kms). When cold these cracks are closed and conducting, but they expand and open when the motor heats up towards operating temperature causing timing to stop and the motor to die.
I hope this helps. If you have a friend with one of these cars, borrow his sensor for an hour and try it out. Takes 5 minutes to get it out and back in from the front underneath. You reach up just right of the exhaust manifold and follow the sensor's lead to the block. It is retained by a single 10mm bolt to the right of the sensor's head.
cheers,
dave.

2007 Hyundai Accent GLS won't start when it's cold

probably need to be using a lighter weight oil. I use 5w-30 in central Texas. If you are that far north, where oil gets cold and thickens up....

have dealer verify by dropping off for service, parking outside overnight, and then try to bring it into the service bay next morning for service.

Could be a long list of things.
You'll need to find out if it is a fuel or spark problem when it won't start.
I would check the fuel pump relay, coil, and the computer for trouble codes.

My 1995 Diamanter will not start

Hi Guys. I took the car to the auto electrician. He says he checked everything and even had the computer tested. I am running a CCA600 battery which he said was putting out 11.6 volts which is not enough to engage the computer. He charged the battery and the car started. That was 3 weeks ago but now, after 3 days of wet weather it again will not fire. I connected the jump start to it but it still will not fire. The battery is showing full charge so I guess its electrical and I need to do some of these other checks.
