It is a 1/4"rivet usualy have to use a big daddy rivet tool to reatach window to track be careful to pull tool toward you slightly when rivet is about to pop the glass may break if you dont to remove the rivet take a small punch & knock the center out of the rivet makes it easy to drill out.good luck from schleck

How to replace drivers side window on 95 chevy truck

Remove interior door trim. There will be screws as well as plastic pins that have to be pried out. Wind the window all the way down. There will be some tracks in the lift mechanism with rollers that are attached to the window frame. Locate and remove the bolts that secure the frame. The window should then come out.

Right front window wont go up or down took off panel found broken pice of plastic on bottom and end of cable cant figure out how to get motor and regalator out

Pry the cars window switch -- and window switch bezel assembly -- out of the door panel using a trim tool if you have one or you can use a butter knife. Detach the wiring connector from the base of the switch by hand. Remove the screws holding the cars door panel to the door using a Phillips screwdriver. Lift the cars door panel up and off the door by hand

Reach into the cars door with your hands and lift the window to the top of the window tract. Tape the window to the top of the frame with packing tape. Detach the wiring connector from the power window motor manually. Remove the bolts holding the cars power window motor to the window regulator and door using a socket set. Pull the old motor out of the door. Set the cars new power window motor in position. Bolt the motor to the regulator and door using a socket set. Attach the wiring connector to the motor by hand. Reinstall the cars door panel by reversing the method used to remove it. Take all the tape off the glass and door before using your Cars' new power window motor.
Hope this helps FixYa up..

I have a 99 VW Jetta wolfsburg (98 body style) and my drivers side window is stuck down - it goes up maybe an inch or two - sounds like its grinding when it does but then it rolls itself down again.....I...

It sounds like the window riser might be bad. It's the mechanism that is driven by the window lift motor and is attached to the glass in two places. The plastic gears may have stripped or one of the cables might have detached from the riser. Pretty common. You can, for now, detach the glass from the riser by loosening the two securing screws or bolts (I can't remember which) that hold the riser clamps onto the glass. I have made a small stick that will keep the window up after I loosen it from the riser. You can also duct tape it up but that's tough in the cold. You will then have a closed window until you buy and install a new riser assembly.

Replacing window regulator

You can buy the plastic clips from the dealer, break the old ones, there is no tool that I remember using, in fact I don't remember having any problem, are you sure the regulator is at fault? why not just replace the motor?

The regulator is attatched to the glass using the rivets through plastic disks. You need to drill them out before the glass can be removed.Save the plastic parts for reassembly.Good Luck
