Where is the engine over heat shut off switch?

Hello - when the engine overheats (and your ignition/key switch) is still functional you basically have two options:

1. Turn the vehicle off at the key (you could also disconnect the negative terminal on the battery - cars aren't the way they used to be - you can't disconnect the cable to see if the alternator is producing the electricity to keep the vehicle going - if you disconnect the battery the car is down for the count with the electrical systems now.

2. If you're driving in a residential area or city (redlight to redlight or stop sign to stop sign) - all that stop and go traffic prevents you from running the vehicle down the road without stopping to get cool air pushing through the radiator. If you're ever in a situation and you have no choice but to drive and the car is overheating/but not blowing the bypass on the cap - you can also get out on the interstate - going those speeds without stopping forces cool air over/through the radiator - helping to cool down the coolant faster. Unless there is a near total meltdown - that will actually help the engine cool faster than just the radiator fan will.

1997 Chrysler Town & Country, codes; p1698, p0734, p1782, p1788, p0732, p1787, and p0700? Plz help

You will need the help of a transmission repair shop or the dealer, there is a serious transmission problem and it will require special test equipment and training to find the cause, which is likely a wiring harness issue.

vehicle shuts down while driving down road and does not start backup for at least 20 minutes, could be a bad crank sensor. if bad it will start and run fine, but it will keep shutting down until fixed.

Speedometer in my 1995 miata stopped working while i was driving down the road? any suggestions?

Hi,
The reason for the speedometer not working should be the cable connecting the dashboard and the transmission. This could be caused by a problem on the speedometer cable. This cable is connected at the back of your dashboard to the transmission. Check out if the cable broke or has disconnected from the back of the dashboard. Thank you for contacting www.Fixya.com

The car when hot or cold may stumble and/or die at a stop sign and it may also do it going 70 mph down the road. It will catch itself and start running.

This may be the early sign of a blown head or gasket. Check your coolant to make sure it doesn't have oil in it or appear to be oily. This is the first thing that I would check.

Car will die wil running, just cut's out with no sound's. speedo will drop all eletronic's cout out

If it over heats and then cuts off this is because of your thermometer/theromostat. Could be a number of things depending upon what else is happening. You should give more detail information of your problem. Could be your starter, fuel pump, caborator/fuel injection, or even your catalytic converter is going out and they don't always smell of rotten eggs when this happens. Catalytic's will cause your vehicle to run slower and putter and even shut down without warning and eventually will not run. Check all avenues. Another thing to look at is your spark plug wires, if they are worn and old your car will run and shut down as well.
