I have a suzuki esteem 1999 I had my neighbor put mu oil in and noe my stick is saying its over and my car now is acting funny, does anyone know if this would cause problems and if so what would it do

with COP coils x4 (DIS ignition?)
our Esteems started in 1999....
other countries have them too, but use totally different spark (distributor) and Im not answering for THAT, only USA EPA spec. engines.
some othere countries, has a Mazda. 1.8L BP.
answering for J18 only.
the J18 is an understoked, J20. (early engine)

this cam has the CMP drive (left side,) or right facing engine) the cam drives it directly.
so... is just there.

why? not scan the PCM and see if you have P0340 errors = CMP misfiring..... (even 1 in 10)

I need a location of my oil dipstick on a 1999 Suzuki esteem

Put in three, run the car and then check the dipstick. Three is plenty to ensure oil pressure then you can use the dipstick mark to get it just right. but it is probably four.

you might want to check timing chain to see if it jumped time .the last two ive tore into the timing chains jumped and bent the valves

I had the same problem on a 2000 suzuki esteem and I checked with the dealer. it looks like there are a lot of problems with the subframe, so suzuki extended the warranty to 12 years or 288 k. I know is a late answer, but might help somebody.

Use a 5w30 oil and the filter the parts person and/or book says to use for that car.

Don't use Fram oil filters. use the cheapest filter that is not fram and any name brand oil that is 5w30.

Autozone has a deal right now for 5qts of oil and a filter for $13

Did you check the oil level inside the gear box? Most people never service the car, so this part gets neglected. if it ran out of oil, you probaply broke it(a big repair bill).
Try putting oil(probably 90w gear oil;check a manual,internet to make sure;if you make a mistake dont worry any oil is better than NO oil).
Check the differential fluid level too;same thing will happen if you neglect doing this.

It might be that your spark plug wires are leaking current. The current that is supposed to go to your plug is going to the engine block or other wires. Start your car and open the hood in a dark place and look for little sparks coming from the outside of your wires. Replace if you see any.

O2 sensors are going to set off your trouble light if they are giving you trouble. So will a dirty EGR valve (after fifty miles of dirtiness).
