2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4

I’m installing a slip tank in my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4 Diesel and according to the instructions say that I have to tap into the purple wire to get my gage to work. When I cut the wire to tap into it the gage still worked when it should not.

I’m installing a transfer flow tank with the trax II tank moderating system

You need to cut a hole in the upright support stud (Doublewall) so the vent hose will slope down in a workable angle. The fillup hose and the vent hose need to go up and over the frame on a van to the aft aux tank. it's the hardest install transferflow saud they ever designed. it causes a "dip' in the vent hose and it fills up with diesel and then you cant pump any fuel in the system. This happens if you top-off the aux

This is also the suer guide http://www.transferflow.com/Resources/Trax-II_Guide.pdf

Hope that helps........

I have a 2008HD GMC Sierra 4WD Diesel - I need power for my new pillar gauges. Which fuse in the cab fuse box will supply keyed accessory power and no power during ignition/cranking?

depending on what brand and style of gauges you use, you might want power with the key in the start position. I have Autometer electric gagues in my Ford diesel and the power is "on" anytime the key is on or in the start position. If you don't need power during the cranking cycle, then I would probably use the radio fuse.

Provided you use good fuel and run a cleaner through a couple of times a year you should get easily 100k out of them if not more.

I need to change the coolant on my 04 GMC Sierra 2500HD diesel where is the drain point and where do I add the new coolant I do not see a radiator cap

There should be a petcock along the bottom of the rad. Most newer rads don't have a cap the antifreeze is added through the overflow tank.

Hello tsundw.
Gray(positive from relay) and black (ground) are for fuel pump.
Purple and Orange are for your fuel level gauge.
That is a diagram for the gasoline engine.
Hope this helps you solve your problem.

Can't find Nav fuse

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax and use the HyperTech software also. I assume you are talking about the installation instructions for HyperTech where it tells you to remove the ONStar and Radio fuse. Look in the owners manual for the fuse box layout under the hood. On mine, it's in the Duramax book and the only fuse that applies is the one listed for the Audio System. You will need to reset your clock when finished.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, doing the holiday thing with the family. From what I read from both Transflow and GMC. When tieing into the purple, both the Trax gage and OEM gage will work. The purple should be the relay wire to the ECD, controlling the low fuel warning lamp. The Trax gage uses this wire to monitor and show the capacity of the stock tank. I'm going to say that you have the wrong wire, however, if you're dead sure you have the right wire, Transflow's web site has a listing for local techs or installers, you may want to give one a call. After all, it is an electrical device and they do fail even when new. Goes back to that whole "lowest" bidder thing.
