My turbo hose also keeps popping off. I took it to my machanic to make sure there was not another problem causing this---everything else tested okay. He also cleaned up the connection ends with a solution and put the hose back on. It stayed on until I took my fifth wheel out for a weekend--it popped off again. I put it back after engine cooled so I could make it home. Took it back to my machanic--he put a longer and heavier duty hose and said this had worked on another Ford he had come before. I have since taken my fifth wheel out twice and the hose has not popped off. However, I have been "babying" the truck. I will be taking it back to Ford to ask if there are any turbo problems with my 2006 Lariat from other customers. I'm still not so confident as I used to be with my truck.

Clean the hose and connecting area with an agent to remove all oil (accetone may work), then put hose back on and ensure bolts are torqed to spec (F250 about 9FTLBS).

2010 genesis coupe 3.8 pcv valve location

There is a small hose going into the valve cover in which you need to unscrew the PCV valve with a socket after removing the small hose. If you have a turbo the hose will be in the front of the car under where it says genesis turbo. It is a small hose with a bend in it and it will Come off with two Spring clamps. The PCV is in the valve cover

Can a turbo make the engine use oil and smoke.

Yes a turbo with faulty oil seal can and will use oil and smoke, and yes the valve stems will have rubber covers but usually only blows smoke each time you start the engine, but will then disapate after running or normal driving

locate the waste-gate and see if you can cover it temporarily while driving. see if this changes it any. It could have a pin sized hole in the diaphragm. just a guess.

Where does one investigate oil consumption in a 1.8 liter turbo engine in a 2001 vw golf using 1-quart every 50 to 100 miles driven, no tail pipe smoke and no leakes on drive way when parked overnight. I...

If you don't drive this little beast hard the oil could be migrating to the charge pipes and inter cooler.

Usually the turbo is likely culprit when oil consumption reaches those levels. Pull the spark plugs to see if the tips are loading up with carbon deposits.

You can pull the lower hose of the inter cooler...drivers side under the bumper....and see if oil pours out. If so the turbo is shot.

Another way oil is consumed is valve stem seals allowing oil down the intake valve guides. Cure is a set of valve stem seals.

Subaru impreza turbo intercooler drives like normal 2l but has no boost?

I would start looking at your boost control valve and vacuum lines going to your turbos waste gate, as well as the recirc/bypass valve. Usually when cars don't boost they have either stuck open waste gates or recirc valves. Or something is blocking the boost control valve from releasing the waste gate. Also make sure that all your intake hose clamps are tight so they are not releasing boost prematurely.

Hello, that is a puzzler, but the blow off valve opening up at an idle is making me think exhaust/catalytic converter restriction causing to much back pressure. Like it can't get the air through fast enough so it's backing up in the intake. I would start my chase there... Let me know if you find any thing...(subyguru)...

I wouldn't drive it until you get a scan done to determine what the problem. Diesels are very expensive to fix. I would lean towards the cam shaft sensor has failed but don't quote me on that.

My turbo won't boost its starts to shake and pull back

Check out all your air hoses and clamps and check the turbo itself to make sure it spins freely. (Engine not running)
