I really need to know what size engine you have in your Beretta as well as how many gears are on the shifter as in low one low two Drive with a circle around it or one two three drive with a circle around it sounds to me like a torque converter pressure switch when vehicle is shifting into overdrive switch is not operating correctly releasing pressure from torque converter causing vehicle not to have enough counterweight for transmission until vehicle slows down and then will operate again shifting through gears until the Overdrive goes to kick in send more info
this is the drive gear position with the overdrive being part of the transmission drive gear when the car is driven over a pre-determined speed,it goes into the overdrive function.
you will run it with the circle D,this is over drive for better gas mileage, and if your going down a hill or snow driving use just the D,this will help hold the car back
there should be a botton on the shifter or when you are shifting the gears look at the dash it should have
P.R. N D if the D has a circle around it than that is over drive
the d with the circle around it is overdrive. the d without the circle is drive. overdrive is designed with highway use in mind. ideally, overdrive is for the highway and drive is for the city.... as far as i understand it.
The button with a "D" with a circle around is for engaging and disengaging overdrive. Your transmission typically will have 4 forward driving gears...by having overdrive disengaged your car will not go into the 4th gear. Disengaging overdrive should only be used when towing or traveling in mountainous terrain.
