My daughter is out of town with our Avalanche and she needs to know the BASICS of how to change the low beam lamp. The manual is missing and the clerk at the Auto Parts store doesn't have a clue how to help her.

Replacing headlights I have a blown low beam

to replace the headlights themselves, no. under the hood, find the headlight. where it connects to the headlight lamp, it should simply twist off and pull out. Then you must unclip the clip holding the light on. It sounds sort of confusing, but it's really easy! Let me know if you need a bit more clarification.

How do I replace the low beam bulb?

Both sides have a rubber cover behind the actually headlight. There are 2 rubber covers, one on the top for the high beams and one on the bottom for the low beams. Drivers side is easy, reach your hand down there and remove. The passenger side requires removal of the air cleaner top to have easy access. Hope this helps!

How do i replace the low beam head lights on a 2003 expedition

The headlight is high and low beam together. They are hard to get to without taking the filter box out. You can slide your arm down to do it, but hard. Un-plug the light, screw off the light collar, which holds the light in, the light will them pull out. Put new light in, screw collar back on, insert plug to light and replace the filter box. The passenger side can be done easier without moving anything.

All you have to do is find the "round rubber cover" on the back of the headlamp, pry it out with a flathead screwdriver and the lamp is right there.
To remove the headlamp assembly on a Trailblazer, remove the plastic panel that covers the hood latch assembly.
Take the cover for the air filter in order to get to the low beam cover.
Take the 3 screws out of the air filter cover and remove. You will then be able to get to the back of the low beam lamp. The high beam is reachable without this hassle.
