That lower pullie is the water pump. Need to replace that, and put sealant around the gasget when you do.

SOURCE: I have a 97 dodge

Since the car ran well for a month after you put the new thermostat, I would say that you have a leak somewhere. Look under the car every time you park, and keep filling the coolant. It is possible that you have a more serious problem, but until you figure out what it is, this may keep you on the road. Check the fluid level every day. Tell us what happens. Also make sure your oil is not milky and there is no oil in the radiator - if this happens, you have serious problems.

I have a 2002 dodge intrepid 2.7 engine and for some reason my car leaks antifreeze close to the passenger side and it over heats what could it be?

Sounds like you have a leaking water pump. Have a shop run a pressure check on the cooling system to confirm this with the car up on a car lift. DONOT drive this car with an overheating engine, you will destroy the engine very quickly.

Why does my 2004 dodge intrepid overheat even with air and heat off

Someone will have to figure out why the engine is running hot.
Could be the thermostat, the radiator fan, or a list of other things.

When I drive my dodge intrepid 2003 at a speed of 70 miles per hour the engine overheats. What type of maintenance or repair is needed?

try flushing the radiator and engine block, make sure the radiator is free from dirt etc.check oil and water levels after flushing, check engine oil see if its clean( ie not a thick dirty black color)if it is dirty you could also clean that as well with flushing oil then refill with new ,when filling radiator add the recomended amount of antifreeze as this also helps to run cooler.
Hope this helps the problem.

How do you know if you blew a headgasket on a 93 dodge intrepid

There will be white smoke out the tailpipe along with a sweet smell of antifreeze. Also the fluid level in your radiator will go down. You can try a sealer from your auto supply store that might seal the leak. Just follow the manufactures instructions.

Just recently like yesterday, my '04 intrepid began to overheat. When I looked to see about the antifreeze, there was in there. I don't know if there is a leak because this is the first time it has...

Do you smell a sweet odor when inside or outside of the vehicle when the engine is running?
Do you see any green fluid on the ground where the car has been sitting?
Is there excessive white smoke coming out of the tail pipe when engine is cold and hot?
These are three first things a mechanic will at to do a proper diagnosis, but these you can do yourself. It is important to not let your engine overheat as this could cause serious engine damage. Keep us informed on what you find to the above questions. This way we can guide you further on fixing your problem correctly.
