Had to replace the battery in my 2001 BMW Z3. Need to find serial number for the Business CD player so I can get the code to reset it. Any idea where the serial number is. It is not in any of the manuals that came with the car. Thanks!

Re: Where is serial number for Business CD player
Get in touch with the dealer. You may need to go there. If so, bring your title, registration, and photo ID to prove you're who you say you are, and the car is yours. They can look up the code for your car based on its VIN number. They may charge you though, up to an hour's labor, so be prepared.

I just did this yesterday for an M3...
pull the stereo out of the dash far enough to read the serial number... call the dealership and they will look it up free of charge and give you the code... write it on the radoi for future reference...
get the complete serial # off the back of the radio. the e-mail it to me a Richl@autonation.com. I will do my best to get the code and get back with you.the # can be 8-17 digits long with letters mixed in
If the radio is displaying code wait, or wait, then the ignition and radio must remain on for 1hour. I would contact a dealer within the USA and provide them with your radio serial number. The serial number can be displayed in the radio by pressing and holding down the "M" button while turning on the ignition.
