Sounds like it could use a good tune up. Change the spark plug, distributor cap, rotor, if it has points new points and condenser. Check the timing. Make sure the vacuum advance is working. If it has the Rochester 4 barrel carb you will need to replace the fuel filter inside the carb where the fuel inlet screws into the carb. Make sure the choke is opening up all the way after the engine warms up. A new air cleaner is essential, and if there's any money left over, replace the spark plug wires. I know it sounds like a lot, but it's all basic tune up stuff. If it hasn't been done fora long time, there should be a marked improvement in performance.

It could be your carb, or a stopped up catalytic converter, or water in your distributor cap...there are a LOT of variables that could be the problem.

My 03 malibu 3.1 when it's in park I reb the gas down halfway It bogged down looses pressure and if I push the gas down harder it pops and when I drive It takes off slow then picks up

The popping and slow to pick up speed is caused by a vacuum leak. Check all the vacuum lines are connected and not broken anywhere.

When ipush on the gas for take off it hesitates slightly but picks up speed great

Hesitation is usually caused by a dirty throttle body or a bad Throttle Position Sensor. I would try cleaning the throttle body first.

GOT A 94 CHEVY CAPRICE. START THE CAR IT IDLES ROUGH BUT TAKES OFF. WHEN I HIT THE HIGHWAY, IF I GO SLOW AND LET THE CAR PICK UP SPEED SLOWLY. SHE RUNS MUCH BETTER, BUT WHEN IM DOING 55 AND NEED EXTRA...

A bad thing about this car their distributor is in front of the engine catching all the road slop. You may need to replace this. Since you replaced the fuel filter have you replaced the air also? Did you try a bottle of fuel injector cleaner? Good luck and I hope my suggestions helps

2003 dodge caravan is slow to pick up speed

Replace the fuel filter as a first step, but also check for a faulty fuel regulator. Find the fuel regulator near the throttle body in the fuel line and pull off the rubber hose and see if there are any traces of fuel dripping out of the rubber hose. The hose is for air only and fuel in that hose indicates the fuel regulator requires replacement. Also check for vacuum leaks in the hoses from the motor's intake to the crankcase where the PCV valve is located. Relatively small holes in that area will cause poor acceleration and a lean condition in the motor and loss of power or hesitation. Also check the plastic air tubes going from the air filter box to the throttle body area to make sure everything is tight and there are no holes. Holes or leaks there will cause hard starts and poor driveability.

Wynding noise under dash when picking up speed.

Does the winding noise speed nup and slow down with the movement of the car? Does the sound seem like an electrical whine or a mechanical whine? It could be your speedomiter cable.
