Dash lights My 2000 camry has no dash lights for the climate control knobs. When I pulled the knobs off to see if I could just change a light bulb there was not a bulb but a clear plastic like wire so I am assuming that the bulb is in another location sending the light to the knobs. Where is the bulb? Also my right dash lights just went out this week and dont know how to change them either. Am I gonna have to pull my dash apart to get to it? Help Thanks Bobbi

It's not just the dash for my 2000 Camry. My R(reverse) light comes on when I step on the break, the D(drive) light does not come on at all, the check engine oil and tail light out indicator lights come on intermittently (appears to have something to do with when I use my trunk) and the radio power button is very sensitive.

The dash is lit by one or more bulbs located on the edge of that clear plastic. You may be able to get to the lamp holder by reaching up behind the dash. If not there, then the dash will need to come off.

How do I replace a climate control panel light bulb for a 2000 VW Cabriolet. I've pulled off the fan control knob and do not see a bulb?

the "bulb" is usually built into the switch/knob , i've never seen one that can be replaced without getting a new knob , or the other variation is an LED behind the panel , these are also non replaceable but can be repaired if you can find an auto electrician to carry out the job

How do I replace the light in the dash for the heating knob ( vent, defroster, etc)

The tiny incandescent light bulb is behind the knob soldered to the circuit board, you must remove the climate control head unit and take it apart to access the knobs back light bulb on the circuit board. You can buy the replacement bulb at Radio Shack, the part number is 7219 Micro Lamp.

Heater fan switch light 2006 corolla

Unfortunatly, on most ne cars the bulbs cannot be replaced. Most new cars use LED bulbs built into what we call the Climate Control Module. One quick way to tell is to pull the knob off and look. Most knob will come off if they are turned to the off or lowest setting. If there is a physical bulb it should just pull out. If not...then its off to your friendly dealer for a repair or replace. FYI, It can get pricey

The climate control lights on my 2003 Jetta TDI wagon have suddenly gone out...is there a fuse or something I can check?

There is one bulb (for all three knobs) behind the center knob. Turn the knob to the straight up and down 12 o'clock position and pull the knob straight out. Wrap a soft cloth around the jaws of a pliers, that works the best. Pull the bulb out with a needle nose wrapped with a rubber band. The bulb is a sylvania 2721, available at most auto parts stores. You can also use a small piece of vacuum tubing to pull the bulb out. (pull straight out, don't twist it)

I have a '99 Solara and want to change the light bulbs that illuminate the three control knobs for heater, fan and directional. Does the front console panel snap on and off or are there some hidden screws?...

Correct. This panel is held on tightly and plastic interior pryors help. One it is started tho it will come off. Some control knobs come off too. The heaterr controller once out then needs to be taken apart carefully to reveal the little bulbs. These are unique bulbs not run of the mill. I don't think they are the same as the dash bulbs.hth

No back light in the dashboard

No No. Just a burnt light bulb. You can replace it very easily. The knob on the controls can be pulled of. Use a rag or cloth to protect the knob then pull it out with pliers. Inside the little hole use a small piece of hose that fits over it and the bulb straight out. Just reconize the position of the bulb when you pull it out to align the new on correctly. Using the same pice of hose reinstall it. Then turn on the lights. The bulb will heat up the hose making it expand a little and using a little thin screwdriver or pin hold the bulb in place through the tube and pull off the tube. Then with your finger just make sure the bulb hasn't moved. Reinstall the knob in the same postion (only goes one way) and try the knob and the lights. Everything should work great. The bulb from VW is less than 10$, and is an easy do it yourself. You DO NOT have to remove the heater console to do this.
